Amber Lynn (Hamson) Wu, 28, of Vienna, VA, formerly of Quarryville, passed away on Sunday, February 9, 2020, due to complications from a medical condition. She was the beloved wife of Peng James Wu, whom she married on December 3, 2018. Born in West Chester, she was the daughter of Jennifer (Talley) Rohrer, of Quarryville, and Douglas C. Hamson, of Cochranville. Amber attended Octorara High School through her sophomore year and was an avid field hockey player there. She then attended Solanco High School, graduating in 2009. She went on to work as a cashier in retail establishments and she enjoyed babysitting for local families. In her younger years, Amber was involved in Girl Scouts and she attended summer pony camps. Having many interests, she enjoyed listening to all kinds of music, horseback riding, and crocheting. When watching television, she would regularly watch cooking shows and she was a fan of The Big Bang Theory. Amber loved spending the summers at her great-grandmother’s beach home in Rehoboth Beach. She enjoyed traveling, having visited Canada, Ireland, and Las Vegas. Amber also had a passionate interest in owls, dolphins, wolves, and sunflowers, and she collected antique teacups. In addition to her husband and parents, she is survived by a brother, Dillon Rohrer, of Quarryville; stepmother, Gosha Hamson, of Cochranville; stepfather, Paul H. Rohrer, Jr, of Quarryville; paternal grandfather, Kenneth Hamson, of Cochranville; maternal step-grandmother, Ina Wilson, of Peach Bottom; and her two fur babies that she adored, Penny and Missy.
She was preceded in death by her maternal grandfather, Albert Lee Talley, Jr.; maternal great-grandparents, Albert Lee Talley, Sr. and Georgianna Mary (Tuohey) Talley; paternal grandmother, Carla (Rice) Hamson; and step-grandparents, Paul H. Rohrer, Sr. and Joan (Hamburg) Rohrer. A Celebration of Amber’s Life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, February 20, 2020 at Solanco Bible Church, 166 Oak Bottom Road, Quarryville, PA, with a time to visit with the family from 9 – 11 a.m. Interment will be private.
