William Allen “Bill” Hart, 57, of Lancaster, formerly of Drumore, passed away peacefully in his sleep at home on Saturday, August 22, 2020. Born in Lancaster, he was the son of Lola Kathleen (Waddell) Hart, of Millersville, and the late Norman E. Hart. Bill was a graduate of Solanco High School, class of 1981. After high school, he attended Thaddeus Stevens School of Technology to study computer-assisted drafting, graduating in 1983 with an associate degree. He then went on to find employment in the field of construction as a project manager, working in this field for 30 years, most recently for Brecknock Builders. Bill was known to always stay busy with his hands, especially through cooking and woodworking. Each year in the fall season Bill loved to go to the mountains to hunt. He was an active athlete in high school, playing on the football team. In high school and after high school, Bill was a talented artist, painting mostly watercolors. He served for many years as a track and field coach for Solanco while his children were in school. Most recently, Bill was “Active in Recovery by the Faith of Jesus Christ,” and he soon would have celebrated a significant milestone of one year of sobriety.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by his children, Tyler Hart, of New York City, and Kayla Hart, of York; brothers, Charles Hart and wife Velma, of Quarryville, Michael Hart and wife Naja, of Christiana, and Randy Hart and wife Debbie, of Quarryville; and his beloved beagle, Brooklyn. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews. Services and interment will be private.
