William A. Henry of Marticville Rd., Pequea, died at Lancaster General Hospital on Monday, May 12, 2014. He was 62. Mr. Henry was born in Providence Township, a son of the late Norman and Naomi M. Swartz Henry. A Vietnam veteran, he served in the U.S. Navy aboard the USS Juneau. He earned the National Defense Service Medal and the Vietnam Service Medal. He was the HVAC manager for Energy Works at Park City, Lancaster, for 41 years. He also worked as a tombstone and monument setter for the Original I. Diller Miller Company, Quarryville. Mr. Henry was a former member of V.F.W. Manor Post 7294.
He enjoyed spending time with his family and his two dogs, Sweet Pea and Teddy Bear. Mr. Henry is survived by his wife of 37 years, Cyndy M. Yoder Henry; two sons, William A., husband of Jessica Henry of Trumbull, Conn., and J. Daniel, husband of Ronda Henry of Pequea; four grandchildren; three brothers, Norm Henry of Drumore, Ken Henry of Frogtown, and Rand E. Henry of Nottingham; and two foster sisters, Tina Westman and Tammy Schmid. Friends may call at Mt. Nebo United Methodist Chruch, 673 Martic Heights Dr., Pequea, from 10 to 11 a.m. on Thursday, May 22. A memorial service will be held from the church at 11 a.m. on that date with the Rev. Charles Evans officiating. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association, 610 Community Way, Lancaster PA 17603, or the American Diabetes Association, 301 Chestnut St., Suite 101, Harrisburg PA 17101.
