Rose Ann Brown, 64, of Palmyra, passed away at her home on Wednesday, April 3, 2024. She was the beloved wife of Robert M. Brown, with whom she shared 13 years of marriage. Born in Lancaster, she was the daughter of Helen G. (Jeffries) Tyson, of Palmyra, and the late John E. Tyson. Rose was a graduate of Manheim Central High School, class of 1978. She was employed as a Certified Nursing Assistant at Penn State Hershey Medical Center, where she retired from with 24 years of service. Rose was an active volunteer in her community. She served as an EMT with Lawn Ambulance and she served as a firefighter with Lawn Fire Company and Campbelltown Fire Company. She also attended fire school to receive Wildfire Training. In addition to her husband and her mother, she is survived by her cousins, Harry Tyson, June Knight, Evelyn Todd and Charles Blevins. She is also survived by a brother-in-law, William H. Brown, husband of Judith, of Florida. In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by a cousin, Franklin Shreckengast.
A Memorial Service will be held at 3:00 PM on Saturday, April 27, 2024, at Middle Octorara Presbyterian Church, 1199 Valley Road, Quarryville, PA 17566. An informal drop-in will be held at 3:00 PM on Saturday, May 11, 2024, at Rose and Bob’s home, 601 East Walnut Street, Palmyra, PA 17078. Those attending are asked to bring a covered dish to share with others. Interment will be private in Middle Octorara Cemetery, Quarryville.
