Rex A. Sheetz, 64, of Rising Sun, Maryland, entered into rest unexpectedly on Sunday, February 19, 2017. Born in Lancaster, PA, he was the son of the late John D. & Ruth K. (Brown) Sheetz. Rex was a 1972 graduate of Solanco High School. He enjoyed being a truck driver most of his life and loved driving a good fast truck. He loved his family, children, scouting, motorcycles, fast cars, tractors, and guns. Rex never met a stranger and could chat with anyone for hours, even if he had just met them. He was a kind hearted, gentile soul, who loved to tell stories and was best at making people laugh even in the toughest situations. Surviving is his wife, Crissy who has been blessed with laughing with him for 39 years; his sons, Donald (Karen & “Spud-Doodle”) and John (Casey Sue). Also surviving is a sister, Shelby Shepherd of Peach Bottom, a brother Bobby of Newark, DE, a sister, Sharon Williams of Lancaster, PA., and a sister, Mary Knights of Lincoln, ME, along with many loved nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts & uncles.
Rex was preceded in death by brothers; Roger Dean Sheetz & George Todd as well as many other family members and dear friends. Please omit flowers. Although he was not a veteran, he had admiration of all who served. Please kindly donate to the DAV. Most of all, keep all the memories of him making you laugh in your heart & tell others. He would love this. A memorial gathering will be private at the family’s convenience. The arrangements have been entrusted to Dewald Funeral & Cremation Services in Quarryville.
