Patricia H. Sabatine, 88, of Conestoga, entered into rest at her home on Friday, March 29, 2024.
Born in Lancaster, she was the daughter of the late Leonard A. and Henrietta A. (Miller) Deaver. She was the loving wife of Joseph G. Sabatine for over 68 years. Patricia was a homemaker and enjoyed playing pinochle, bowling, and playing piano. In addition to her husband, she is survived by two daughters, Deborah (Gerald) Eckman and Brenda (Dennis) Landis; 7 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren and 5 great-great grandchildren. Mrs. Shirley J. (Brammer) Monk went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Saturday March 30, 2024, at her home in Quarryville, PA. She was 87 years old. Shirley was raised in Maryland but spent most of her life living in the Little Britain/Quarryville areas of PA. She also lived in France, NY, and VA. She was the wife of the late William A. Monk. She was also preceded in death by her parents, Clyde and Blanche M. (Pyle) Brammer, her two children, Debra B. and William A. Monk, Jr., as well as her two brothers, Clyde Jr. and Kenneth E. Brammer. Amos “Amy” Glick King, 82, of Witmer, went to be with the Lord at his home on Wednesday, March 27, 2024. He was the beloved husband of Jane Ayers-King, with whom he shared 40 years of marriage. Born in East Lampeter Township, he was the son of the late Amos and Mary (Glick) King. Amos proudly served in the U.S. Army from 1964 -1966. As a young man he learned to be an electrician, first for High Steel, then he worked many years for Lapp Electric, and most recently he worked for Yarnell Security, retiring at the age of 80. Amos was a diehard fan of NASCAR, collected NASCAR memorabilia, and followed several drivers. He was an excellent electrician, known for being a hard worker, and he could figure out and fix most anything. Amos was a member of Calvary Church for 40 years. Having been blessed with marriage after being single for many years, Amos frequently stated, “I became a husband, father, and grandfather with one I do.” Marguerite (Margo) S. Bare, 83, of New London, PA passed away on Tuesday, March 26, 2024 at home. She was the wife of the late John F. Bare with whom she shared 57 years of marriage. Born in Jefferson, NC she was the daughter of the late Walter G. and Nettie Burkett Sheets. Margo was a member of Christ Church at the Grove, Landenberg. She enjoyed her doll collections and spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Charles “Charlie” L. Gallagher, 75, of Oxford, Pennsylvania passed away March 26th 2024 with his devoted family by his side. Born in West Grove Hospital to W. Milton Gallagher Sr. and Helen Margaret Baker; he is survived by his wife, Darlene Roland Gallagher, brother Walter M. Gallagher Jr. of Kirkwood, PA, sons Benjamin Sean (Amanda) and Joshua Charles (Amy), and grandchildren Liam, Moira, Cillian, Jamie & Brigid. A lifelong resident of the Oxford area, Charlie was a familiar sight in town as a walking mailman and as a dog walker to his best friend, Bogey. He loved a hard roll sub from Tony’s, cheeseburger and gravy fries from the Varsity Grille or cherry milk from Heron’s. He could be found any summer day at Bicknell’s pool, any dance at the school gym, or the latest movie at the Oak theater. Lisa Christine Brown, age 57, of Nottingham, PA and formerly of Rising Sun, MD passed into the gates of heaven on Wednesday, March 20, 2024. She was the daughter of Linda A. McVey Brown of Nottingham, PA and the late Charles D. Brown. She is survived by her mother; and brother, Charles (Art) Brown. Her father passed in 1980. She was the wife of the late Alfred B. Brandenberger, Jr. Born in West Grove she was the daughter of the late Delbert and Fannie Grey Allen. Elizabeth was retired from the Maryland Transportation Authority after 30 years of service. She enjoyed bird watching, word searches, sending cards and animals especially dogs. Elizabeth loved spending time with her grandchildren and friends. Frances M. “Francy” Rush, 99, of New Providence, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, March 22, 2024 at the Quarryville Presbyterian Retirement Community. She was the daughter of the late William and Naomi (Bennett) Schneider. She was the loving wife of the late John H. Rush, with whom she shared 49 years of marriage at the time of his passing in 1990. Francy was preceded in death by a daughter, Darlene Rush and 9 brothers and sisters. She is survived by a son, John H. Jr., husband of Rebecca Rush of New Providence; two grandsons, Brett, husband of Dawn Rush of New Providence and Chad, husband of Hannah Rush of Nottingham. Also surviving are four great-grandchildren: Jonathon (Alissa) Rush, Jordan (Jessica) Rush, Abigail (Keith) Sassaman and Brooke Rush. Opal M. MacDurmon, 88, formerly of Lancaster and Bear, DE, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, March 15, 2024. She was the loving wife of the late William A. MacDurmon, with whom she shared 58 years of marriage at the time of his passing in 2011. Born in Pasadena, CA, she was the daughter of the late Raymond L. and Marion (Dittemore) Sweitzer. Opal was a graduate of Voorheesville High School, class of 1953. For over 30 years she was employed as a secretary, first for Southeast Delco School District, then ICI Americas, where she retired from. In her spare time, Opal enjoyed reading and traveling. During her lifetime she was a member of an Assembly of God Church, most recently Lancaster First Assembly of God. Opal had a passion and a ministry for working with children, being involved in children’s church, Sunday School, Christian Club, and Bible to School for over 50 years. She enjoyed doing things for others, and she was known for being one of the kindest people you would ever meet. William H. Bruhns, age 90 of Willow Street, formally of Long Island, NY, passed away on Friday, March 22, 2024. He was born in Oyster Bay, NY, son of the late Henry G. & Louise C Herzog Bruhns. He worked as an electrical engineer for many electric laboratories on Long Island and especially enjoyed his work in research and development in communications & radio. He was also active in early computer science applications in electronics. He is survived by 2 sons: David, husband of Rhonda Bruhns of Long Island, NY, James Bruhns, husband of Lisa Amaral of Seattle, WA, 3 grandchildren: Sara Bruhns wife of Evan Boyle of Seattle, WA, Nicole Bruhns wife of Jordan Mays-Rowland of Seattle, WA, Ronald Beatty of Cairo, NY, and 3 great grandchildren: Luna, Alara, Stella, and 1 more on the way. |
