Larry G. Trout, age 78, of Lancaster passed away on Saturday, April 13, 2024. Born in Lancaster, he was the son of the late Nelson H. and Inez M. Grumbling Trout. Larry worked as a serviceman for L.R. Keperling Appliances. He graduated from Solanco High School, class of 1963. Larry loved to “tinker”, he also enjoyed hunting, and being outdoors. He was the resident gardener at Neffsville, and was known for having a green thumb. He was a member of State Line Baptist Church in Rising Sun MD, where he was known to the congregation as the church’s handyman. If you ever walked through the doors at State Line Baptist Church, Larry was probably holding the door for you. Surviving is a son Jeffery husband of Jennifer Trout, 2 grandchildren; Jessica wife of Devin Oliver and Jeremy Trout, 2 great-grandchildren; Meliah and Asher, 3 Siblings; Ronald husband of Jeanette Trout, Joyce wife of the late Henry “Jack” Combs, Barry husband of Joan Trout, 7 nieces and 1 nephew. Larry is preceded in death by a brother Galen husband of Jane Trout, and a nephew Bryan Trout.
A memorial service will take place form State Line Baptist Church, 560 Chrome Road Rising Sun, MD 21911, on Friday, April 19th at 11 a.m. with a greeting time starting at 10 a.m. until the time of service. Pastory James Reeves will be officiating. Interment will be in the adjoining cemetery immediately following the service. In Lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to State Line Baptist Church.
