Joseph H. Steckler, Jr., 72, of Willow Street, entered into rest on Monday, December 14, 2015 following a brief illness. “Bud” as he was lovingly known was born in Quarryville, a son of the late Joseph and Marguerite (Huhn) Steckler, Sr. His wife, Marinda (Lord) Steckler died in 2007. Joe worked as an assistant supervisor for High Industries. A very handy kind of guy there was nothing he would not attempt and succeed in, such as woodworking, sewing, and auto body work, just to name a few. He was a baseball fan and also he enjoyed watching motocross. Joe’s favorite thing to do was to spend time with his family. Surviving are sons: Joseph Steckler, III and wife Evette of Holtwood, son Michael Steckler and fiancé’, Sue Westendorp of Mohnton, PA and grandchildren Alexander and Jordan along with great grandchildren Layla and Kelsey. Also surviving is a sister, Jhoanne Hershey of Lancaster. He was preceded in death by a step-sister, Ruth Wilson.
Funeral Services will be on Friday, December 18, 2015 from Dewald Funeral & Cremation Services, 227 W. 4th St., Quarryville at 11:00 a.m. with interment to follow in Willow Street Mennonite Cemetery.
