John Henry Globisch, 90, of New Providence, entered into rest on Saturday, October 13, 2018 at Lancaster General Hospital. Born in Brownstown, he was the son of the late Erich and Sadie E. (Quinn) Globisch. He was the loving husband of the late Claire Ann (Schlitzer) Globisch. John had served our country for a year in the Merchant Marines before entering the Air Corp. He was a amateur boxer with a record of 61-4-1, he turned professional after leaving the military. He later worked as a chef for Millers Smorgasbord and the Ephrata American Legion. John was a member of Ascension Lutheran Church and the American Legion. John is survived by 2 sons: Eric, husband of Donna Globisch of New Providence; and Robert, husband of Dawn Stahler of Quarryville; 4 grandchildren: Christopher Globisch, Corey Smith, Matt Smith, and Hope Globisch; 5 great grandsons and a great granddaughter. He was preceded in death by 4 sisters, 1 brother and a son, John Randy Globisch. John’s funeral service will take place on Saturday, October 20, 2018 at Ascension Lutheran Church, 600 Penn Grant Rd., Willow Street, PA 17584 at 11 a.m. There will be a viewing at the church from 10-11 a.m. Interment with military honors will follow in the Greenwood Cemetery.
