Hazel S. Wesley, 99, of Quarryville, PA passed away peacefully on May 14, 2015 at The Glen at Willow Valley in Willow Street, PA. She was preceded in death by her parents Forrest R. and Elsie B. Baughman Scott and her husband of 64 years, Paul R. Wesley. She is survived by her daughter, Dolores W. Jones wife of Neil H. Jones of Quarryville; a granddaughter Denise D. Tyrrell of Houston, TX; and a great granddaughter Paige W. Tyrrell of Austin, TX. A self-taught artist, Hazel’s admiration of natural beauty served as the inspiration for her paintings. She enjoyed working with textiles, ceramics, and painting on canvas, glass, tin, and wood. She was also a piano instructor and accomplished seamstress. Hazel was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Lancaster and a former member of the Pennsylvania Guild of Craftsmen. A memorial celebration honoring Hazel will be held at Reynolds Funeral & Cremation Services, Inc. 144 East State Street, Quarryville, PA on Saturday, May 23, 2015 at 1:00PM. A visitation will be held at the funeral home from 12:00Noon until the time of service. As a tribute to her vibrant life and love of color, guests are encouraged to wear something red.
