Gary M. Tollinger, 62, of Willow Street, passed away on Monday, April 15, 2024, while under the care of Hospice & Community Care, Mount Joy. He was the beloved husband of Patricia A. (Hess) Tollinger, with whom he shared 29 years of marriage. Born in Lancaster, he was the son of Leo N. Tollinger, of Quarryville, and Patsy (Groff) Eller, of Little Britain. Gary had worked for Buck Iron as a tow motor operator. In his early years, he enjoyed going camping. He also loved to hunt and fish and he enjoyed cooking on the grill. In addition to his wife, he is survived by a son, Pete Tollinger, husband of Cheyenne, and their children, Hailey and Alexis, all of the Buck; brother, Leo (Denise) Tollinger, Jr., of New Providence; sister, Trudy (Dale) Waite, of Huntingdon County; aunt, Joanne (Harold) Hogg, of Atglen; stepmother, Barb Tollinger, of Quarryville; stepbrother, Jeffrey (Danielle) Ankrim, of New Providence; two nieces, two nephews, and a close family friend, Jake Murr.
He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Norris and Margaret (Childress) Tollinger, maternal grandparents, John M. Groff and Anna (Brooks) Groff, aunt, Elaine Simes, stepfather, David L. Eller, and a niece, Danielle Lorraine Tollinger. A Funeral Service will be held at 7:00 PM on Thursday, April 18, 2024, at West Willow United Methodist Church, 118 West Willow Road, Willow Street, PA 17584, with a viewing at the church from 6 PM – 7 PM.
