Daniel C. Ressler of Scheller Rd., New Providence, died on Thursday, March 13, 2014. He was 62. Mr. Ressler was born in Lancaster, a son of the late Charles A. and Thelma Rauser Ressler. He was also the stepson of the late D. Susan Bushong Ressler. During the Vietnam War, he served as a SP4 in the U.S. Army. He worked in Armstrong World Industries' production department for 30 years before retiring. Following his retirement, he worked as a driver for Renezenberger Transportation Services.
An avid train enthusiast, he collected Lionel trains and was a member of the Train Collectors Association. He also enjoyed hunting, woodworking, farming, traveling, and spending time with his grandchildren. He is survived by three sons, Charles N. Ressler of Holtwood, William T. Ressler of Lititz, and Franklin L. Ressler of New Providence; five grandchildren; two brothers, David W., husband of Barbara Ressler of New Providence, and Andrew Ressler of Willow Street; and his sister, Barbara, wife of Fredrick Hess of Pequea. His wife, Darlene K. Armstrong Ressler, died in 2009, Friends called at Reynolds Funeral and Cremation Services, 144 E. State St., Quarryville, from 6:30 to 8 p.m. on Monday, March 17, and may call at the funeral home from 9 to 10 a.m. on Tuesday, March 18. Services will be held from the funeral home at 10 a.m. on Tuesday with the Rev. Marilyn Witte officiating. Burial will be in Conestoga Memorial Park.
