Christi Marie Rodgers of Peach Bottom fell in the line of duty on Friday, October 24, 2014. She was 26. Mrs. Rodgers was born in Lancaster, a daughter of David and Janice Harven Jackson. She worked as a scheduler and caregiver for Caring Matters Inc., Lancaster. Mrs. Rodgers was an active volunteer firefighter and Emergency Medical Technician. She was a member of the Robert Fulton Fire Company, Wakefield, where she served as the company's secretary and medical officer. She also served with the Wakefield Ambulance Association. She had also been a member of the Rawlinsville and Pequea fire companies and had served as an EMT with the former Providence Ambulance Association.
She was an active member of the Worship Center, Leola. Mrs. Rodgers loved the outdoors, hunting, and fishing. She had also been an assistant coach with her father at the Penn Manor Soccer Club. She had been a Girl Scout leader, receiving the silver award. Mrs. Rodgers enjoyed following the Baltimore Ravens. In addition to her parents, she is survived by her husband, James P. Rodgers II; her one-month-old son, Conner Patrick Rodgers; her brother, David Jackson, husband of Jermel Johnson of Philadelphia; her paternal grandparents, Florence and Jesse Jackson, Lancaster; and her maternal grandmother, June Harven of Huntingdon County. Friends may call at the Worship Center, 2384 New Holland Pike, Lancaster, from 6 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, October 29, and at Wesley United Methodist Church, 1104 Kirkwood Pike, Quarryville, from 9 to 11 a.m. on Thursday, October 30. Services will be held from Wesley United Methodist Church at 11 a.m. on Thursday. Burial will be in the Pleasant Grove United Methodist Cemetery, Pilottown Rd., Peach Bottom. Memorial contributions may be made to the Conner P. Rodgers Benefit Fund in care of any Fulton Bank branch. Arrangements are being made through Reynolds Funeral and Cremation Services, Quarryville.
