Maida D. Pierce, age 70, of Kirkwood, passed away on Monday, December 12, 2022 at Penn Medicine Lancaster General Hospital. She was the wife of William Pierce, celebrating 52 years of marriage on September 4th of this year. Born in Richmond, NY, she was the daughter of the late Alfred and Dorothy Reed Markowski. Maida loved music and cooking, flowers and being outside. In addition to her husband, she is survived by a son, David Pierce of Kirkwood, and 2 sisters: Valerie wife of Bill Lala of OH, Monica wife of Thomas Savin of NJ, and a niece Natalie husband of Jeremy Bartram of OH. Dawn Marie Robinson, 79, of Quarryville, entered into rest on Saturday, December 10, 2022. Born in Lancaster, she was the daughter of the late Harold and Betty V. (Judge) Miller. She was the loving wife of the late John R. Hertz. Dawn had spent many years working in the kitchen at Tanglewood Manor Golf Club and later at Melissa’s Country Grille. She had attended the former Mt. Hope United Methodist Church and she enjoyed shopping and spending time at the beach in Stone Harbor and Avalon. She is survived by two sons: Mark Robinson of Quarryville and Brad, husband of Sandy Robinson of Willow Street. Also surviving are grandchildren: Zebulon, Seth, Jonathan, Jacob, and Isaac. Lyle Dane Vannoy, age 26 of Quarryville, passed away on Saturday, December 10, 2022 at his home. Born in Lancaster, he was the son of Harold and Daphne Oatman Vannoy. He graduated from Solanco High School, Class of 2014. He worked for E.S. Beiler Masonry in Bird in Hand. Lyle loved his dog Chunk and, in his free time, he enjoyed working with wood and power tools, and working on cars. Surviving besides his parents is his sister: Anya Emma Vannoy of Quarryville, a grandmother: Jean Herr of Lakewood, WA, and an uncle: David Vannoy of Las Vegas, NV. Michael C. Hastings, 62, of Holtwood, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, December 3, 2022. He was the loving husband of Sharon L. (Long) Hastings for 42 years. Born in Lancaster, he was the son of C. Richard and Nancy J. (Long) Hastings of Kirkwood. Besides his wife and parents, Mike is survided by his sons, Ryan M. (Brett) Hastings of Peach Bottom, Brandon M. (Amanda) Hastings of Quarryville, and Jordan M. Hastings of Holtwood; granddaughters, Hannah, Camryn, and Dawsyn; and brothers, Bryan (Carla) Hastings of Kirkwood, and Tom (Debbie) Hastings of Peach Bottom. William Kent Barlow, 64, of Avondale, entered into rest unexpectedly on Sunday, December 4, 2022 at his home. Born in New Garden, Chester County, he was the son of Geneva (Blevins) Barlow and the late John Barlow. Bill enjoyed metal detecting, gold panning, civil war history and visiting historical sites. He was also an avid coin collector and a talented cook. Harvey “Bill” William Hansen, Jr., 60, of Oxford, PA, passed away on December 6, 2022. Born in West Grove, PA he was the son of Edith Whiteside Hansen of Nottingham and the late Harvey William Hansen, Sr. Bill retired from Du Pont in 2008 after 25 years of service and in 2010 became the caregiver for his parents. He was always willing to lend a helping hand and enjoyed working on his lawn, cars and tractors. Todd M. Boldt, age 59 of Christiana, passed away peacefully on Saturday, December 3, 2022 at his home. He was the husband of Lori Anderson Boldt with whom he celebrated 33 wonderful years of marriage on November 11th. Born in Canton, OH, he was the son of Donald M. Boldt and the late Lois R. Ochsenfeld Boldt. Todd loved Jesus and was a member of Freedom Life Church in Christiana where he served faithfully, mixing sound for the worship team. Todd loved spending time with his family, live music, golfing with friends, boating, hunting, fishing, and playing darts. He enjoyed being hands-on with the craftsmanship and design of his home and worked as a computer engineer for Telesystems Communications. Beverly A. “Bev” Host, 86, of Landisville, formerly of Camp Hill, PA and Punta Gorda, FL, passed away on Friday, December 2, 2022. She was the loving wife of the late Ronald E. Host, who passed away in 2014. Born in Liverpool, PA, she was the daughter of the late Samuel and Ruth M. (Peck) Stine. After raising her family, Bev took classes and became a licensed real estate agent, first with Jack Gaughen, and most recently with RE/MAX, retiring with 20 years of service. She enjoyed people, having many sunset get togethers, going boating with friends, and purposely having a home in Punta Gorda for entertaining. She also found enjoyment in a good glass of wine and dining at a nice restaurant. In her spare time, you could find Bev shopping, completing puzzles, and playing golf. In her later years, Bev grew to appreciate the companionship of her many grand dogs. Faith Lorraine (Brady) Sandiford-Bey, age 56, of Tampa, FL passed away on Wednesday, November 30, 2022 of a brain aneurism. Born in Columbia, PA she was the daughter of Bette (Thies) Davis of Quarryville and the late James Eugene Brady. She was the wife of Andre Sandiford-Bey for 21 years. She graduated from Lampeter Strasburg High School in 1985. Faith was employed by The Kenific Group. Surviving beside her mother is a sister Hope Crawford (wife of Gary Crawford); four children, Crystal Hipps, Nicole Merli (wife of David Merli), Misty McCarty, and Paige Crawford. |
