Stanford F. Cox of Lancaster died at home on Friday, November 29, 2013. He was 87. Mr. Cox was born in Russellville, a son of the late Frank G. and Marie E. Dubbs Cox. He spent much of his early life near Unicorn, southern Lancaster County. After serving with the U.S. Army in the Pacific Theater during World War II, he earned a bachelor's degree from Elizabethtown College. He later earned a master's degree from Temple University. Florence E. Groff Rohrer of Conestoga View Nursing Home, Lancaster, died at home on Sunday, December 1, 2013. She was 92.
Mrs. Rohrer was born in Leacock Township, a daughter of the late Reuben M. and Miriam E. Minney Groff. She lived in Strasburg before moving to the nursing home. Florence "Dolly" T. Root of Oxford died at home on Wednesday, December 4, 2013. She was 86.
Mrs. Root was born in Cochranville, a daughter of the late Ervin Troutman and the late Olive Gilbert Troutman Sladeski. Luke Anthony King of Keneagy Hill Rd., Paradise, died unexpectedly at home on Thursday, November 28, 2013. He was 11 weeks old.
Luke was the son of Elmer and Hannah King King. Paul L. Winters of Lancaster died at Magnolias of Lancaster on Tuesday, November 26, 2013. He was 83. Mr. Winters was born in Martic Township, a son of the late Lewis and Ella Douts Winters. During the Korean War, he served in the U.S. Army. He worked for Schick and for Burnham Boiler, Lancaster. Marilyn S. Kindler of New Providence died at the home of her friends, Carl and Shirley Miller, on Friday, November 29, 2013. She was 90. Mrs. Kindler was born in Dormont, the daughter of the late Eugene and Minnie Dalbey Stitt. She was a homemaker most of her life. |
