Kevin M. “Kev” Roesler, 37, of Peach Bottom, formerly of Cheltenham, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, August 7, 2023 due to injuries sustained in an accident. Born in Philadelphia, he was the son of Charles W. and Deborah L. (Hoser) Roesler, of Peach Bottom. Kevin was a graduate of Cheltenham High School, class of 2004. For many years he worked in the field of home maintenance, performing pressure washing and other services. In 2001 Kevin’s parents began vacationing in Southern Lancaster County. Kevin then grew to love the Peach Bottom area, and enjoyed being outdoors, especially boating and fishing. Having a heart for others, Kevin regularly helped his father with home projects and he would lend a hand to his neighbors. For leisure, he enjoyed riding his dirt bike, target shooting and spending time with his children and his family. LeRoy E. “Red” Pembleton, age 92 of Holtwood, passed away on Tuesday, August 8, 2023 at his home. He was the husband of Marilyn Zergiebel Pembleton for nearly 70 years. Born in Brooklyn, NY, he was the son of the late Harry F. and Clara Svenson Pembleton. He was a member of First United Methodist Church of Oakhurst, NJ for over 70 years. He worked as a manager for NCR Computers before retiring. Red honorably served in the United States Navy during the Korean War. He was a life member of Oakhurst Independent Hose Company No. 1 and Oakhust EMS, Inc. In his free time, he loved fishing, golfing, and spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Clyde Herr Miller, 85, of Quarryville, took his Heavenly flight in the early hours of Monday, August 7, 2023.
Born in Lancaster, he was the son of the late Norman D. and Emma (Herr) Miller. He was the loving husband of Barbara (Metzler) Miller for 63 years. Clyde was a life-long member of the Mennonite Church, having most recently attended Mechanic Grove Mennonite Church. He was a long-time dairy farmer and had also worked for Little Britian Ag Supply for several years. Clyde enjoyed hunting, fishing, and gardening. Donald H. Donald H. Wimer, 92, of Willow Street, entered into rest on Monday, August 7, 2023 at Hospice and Community Care. Born in Eden Township, he was the son of the late Roy W. and Olive “Ollie” S. (Oatman) Wimer. He was the loving husband of Beverly (Autland) Wimer for 66 years. Don was a 1949 graduate of Solanco High School. He went on to serve in the United States Airforce during the Korean Conflict. Don was employed by Miller and Hartman Food Distributors for many years. He also drove for Solanco Meals on Wheels for over 30 years. He enjoyed hunting, bowling; and golf in later years and could be found attending every Solanco sporting event that he possibly could. He especially loved spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren who affectionately called him “Pap”. Amos S. King, age 89, passed away on Monday, August 7, 2023.
He was the husband of the late Mary R. King King who passed away on June 15, 2012. He was born in Strasburg, son of the late Henry S. & Sarah Stoltzfus King. Miller King of Points, WV, Elam K. husband of Rachel L. Fisher King of Kirkwood, Amos S. Jr. husband of Fanny Stoltzfus King of Myerstown, Lydia K & Katie K. King both of Quarryville, 66 grandchildren, 121 great grandchildren, 2 siblings: Levi King of Myerstown, Sarah Miller of Dover, DE. Reba “Bunny” Santos passed away on August 5, 2023, at Twin Pines in West Grove, PA. Born September 25, 1944, in Lancaster, PA, she was the daughter of George and Sarah Tedder and sister to Rosa, Ethel, Georgia, Ann, and Bill. She had four children Vicki, Sharon, Scottie, and Anthony (Kathy). Bunny was a strong woman, and loving mother. She was preceded in death by her parents and siblings, her son Scottie, and her daughter Sharon. In addition to her children, she had six grandchildren: Courtney (Justin), Jennifer (Richie), Donald, Christian, Tyler, and Sophie and five great grandchildren: Bryana, Khloe, Kali, Josephine, and Oliver. Jacob M. Stoltzfus, age 71, and his wife Annie B. Beiler Stoltzfus, age 70, of 872 Mount Pleasant Road, Quarryville, passed away on Sunday, August 6, 2023 as the result of a vehicle accident.
Jacob was born in Christiana, son of the late Samuel M. and Katie Stoltzfus Stoltzfus. Annie was born in Paradise, daughter of the late Elam H. and Katie L. Beiler Beiler. They were members of the Old Order Amish Church. Surviving are 8 children: Barbara B. wife of Stephen U. Zook of Pequea, Katie B. wife of William S. Fisher of Paradise, Rachel B. wife of Christian U. Esh of Lancaster, Anna B. wife of John S. Smucker of Strasburg, Ruth B. wife of Eli S. Esh of Bird-in-Hand, Esther M. wife of Isaac S. Stoltzfus of Quarryville, Emma B. wife of Jacob M. Esh of Delta, Jacob M. Jr. husband of Rebecca Blank Stoltzfus of Parkesburg, 57 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren. They were preceded in death by a great-grandchild. Brent Allen Pennell, 50, of New Providence, entered into rest on Saturday, August 5, 2023 at Hospice and Community Care in Mt. Joy. Born in Lancaster, he was the son of Margaret L. (Graver) Pennell and the late Allen E. Pennell. Brent was a skilled carpenter for Murry Communities in Lancaster. He was an avid outdoorsman who loved hunting, fishing, and 4-wheeling. He also enjoyed reading. In addition to his mother, he is survived by siblings, Brian K. Pennell of New Providence and Brenda Lee wife of Michael Keim of Beaver, PA; 3 nieces, 2 nephews, and a great niece. Ruth V. Glass, age 89 of Lancaster, passed away on Friday, August 4, 2023 at her home. She was the wife of the late Harold J. Glass who passed away on April 4, 2019. Born in Drumore Township, she was the daughter of the late Ernnest C. and Violet Lefever Martin. In her free time, Ruth loved reading her Bible, doing word searches, gardening, thrift shopping and spending time with her family. She is survived by 2 daughters; Barbara A. Glass of Lancaster, Brenda E., wife of Charles Wilson of Manheim, 3 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren, and 2 brothers; Robert Hubbs of Lancaster and John Hubbs of FL. Katherine Elizabeth Absher Brinton, age 57, of Peach Bottom, passed away Friday, August 4, 2023. Kathy was at home surrounded by family when she passed peacefully into the waiting arms of her Lord and Savior. Born in Lakeland, FL on April 28, 1966, she was the daughter of Charles Absher and the late Mary Howell Absher. Kathy graduated from Harford Christian School and married Scott Kerr Brinton. Together with their children, they operated Riverview Farms. Kathy loved being a farm wife. She excelled at all things domestic - being a wife, mother, sister, daughter, friend and “Gma.” She gave of herself freely. Kathy set a good example for everyone with her faith in Jesus Christ. She loved all children and was generous with her time and talents to everyone she knew. She was an active homeschool mother, with each of her 5 children, including two sets of twins. |
