The Perryville girls soccer team lost 5-1 to visiting North Harford Thursday.
After the Hawks took a 1-0 lead, the Panthers' Tori Antoshak answered less than a minute later to tie it. North Harford took control with two goals in the last two minutes of the first half. The Rising Sun volleyball team raised its record to 4-0 with a sweep of visiting C. Milton Wright last Wednesday evening.
The Tigers triumphed 25-10, 25-5, 25-12. The Perryville field hockey team lost 3-0 to visiting North Harford Wednesday.
After struggling in the first half, the Panthers performed better in the second half and held the Hawks off the board. Perryville hosted a cross country meet on school grounds for the first time Tuesday, September 16.
The Panthers typically hold home meets at Perryville Community Park. But the Perryville runners expressed a desire to have a meet at the school and coach Jake Moore and may others made it happen. The Rising Sun boys soccer team pulled an out an exciting 4-3 triumph over host North East Tuesday night, September 16.
It was a back and forth affair with the teams trading goals until Kane Watson headed home the game-winner in the 71st minute on a cross from Logan Holtman. Lane Schmidt put the Indians ahead in the seventh minute before the Tigers' Martin Stillwell responded six minutes later off an assist from Zak Wiegand. The Rising Sun girls cross country team turned in an outstanding performance at the Maryland Track and Trail Invitational Saturday at Fair Hill.
The Tigers placed third in the Small Schools division behind Catoctin and Cambridge-South Dorchester. It was a dominant week for the Rising Sun boys soccer team.
The Tigers captured the Cobra Kick-Off Classic and recorded a win over North Harford all without allowing a goal. Rising Sun outscored its foes a combined 16-0 in the tournament at Harford Tech Saturday. It was a beautiful thing to behold – unless you are a John Carroll girls soccer player or a Patriots' supporter.
Rising Sun coach Dylan Aiman promised his squad would play "real soccer" and the Tigers delivered in a big way Friday. Organized Rising Sun used precision passing to control the game and capitalized on its scoring chances to down perennial power John Carroll 3-0. The Perryville football team pulled away for a 44-15 triumph over visiting North East Friday night. The Indians' Josia Larkins bolted up the middle for an 88-yard TD jaunt to cut the Panthers' lead to 22-15 with 6:55 left in the third quarter. On the next play from scrimmage, North East's Garren Davidson picked off a pass and the Indians seemed to have the momentum. But Perryville stopped North East on a 4th and 1 play from the Indians' 48 and it was all Panthers after that. |
