The Tigers topped visiting Perryville 11-5 last Thursday night, the first time in a decade that Rising Sun has defeated the Panthers. "It's a big accomplishment because it shows how hard we've worked throughout the season and how we've grown as a team and we've trusted each other," Rising Sun senior defender Jasmyne Moore said. "It's a big accomplishment." The Harford Tech girls lacrosse team pulled away in the second half to upend Perryville 14-10 Monday night, April 23.
The Rising Sun girls lacrosse team overcame a slow start to tie the game in the second half but host Havre de Grace scored the game's final two goals to top the Tigers 6-4 Thursday night, April 12.

Perryville's girls lacrosse team led early and came out on top to post a win in play-off action last week. The Panthers captured a 20-9 victory over visiting Elkton last Wednesday, May 10. Perryville head coach Mary Dunman said "We came out to play our game. We always have a very aggressive game against each other. It always comes down to the two of us and they (Elkton) came to try and beat (us) and (we) played a great game. We just stuck to our normal game plan and our defense held them (Elkton) and our transitions is what really kept us going this time." The Perryville girls lacrosse team had its sensational season end in the region title game for the third straight season.
Fallston ousted the Panthers 21-4 Wednesday evening. Rising Sun's girls lacrosse team posted an overtime win in the opening round of the region tournament before being ousted by C. Milton Wright 24-4 Friday afternoon.
It was a situation too good to pass up.
Perryville girls lacrosse star Sydnie Bjork will attend Salisbury University where she play for an NCAA Division III power, remain relatively close to home, and eventually reunite with two Panther teammates. |
