After a slow start to the season and only winning two games before the Green-N-Gold tournament. North East head coach Chris Hadjis said it felt like Christmas all over again, when his team won. North East battled Tome in the tournament at Cecil College on December 27. North East topped Tome with a score of 36-28. He credited the Indians' success to the fact that they are playing as a team and many of their injured players are back. The Elks didn't take a break over the Christmas holiday, capturing a win over Bo Manor in girls basketball. Elkton defeated the Eagles 55-35 on December 27 during the Green-N-Gold tournament at Cecil College. "We laid an egg with C.M. Wright last week and the girls learned from that. I was really happy with how they prepared for this game. They were fully prepared," said Elkton head coach Chris Dunn. The Elks practiced hard for the tournament and used some new strategies. "Our offense against their zone that was something different that we put in this game and it worked really well," said Dunn. |
