The Perryville boys lacrosse team lost 10-9 in overtime to visiting Joppatowne on Senior Night Monday. The Rising Sun duo of Jake Vincent and Evan Holbrook advanced to the district tournament by placing second in the Susquehanna Division tournament.
The Perryville girls lacrosse team topped host Aberdeen 19-12. Sydnie Bjork supplied seven goals and three assists to pace the Panthers. Taylor Poore provided four goals and five assists. The Perryville softball team swept a doubleheader from Harford Tech last Thursday.
The Panthers won the nightcap 12-1 in five innings after taking the opener 17-4 in five innings. In the second game, Kaitlyn Willis struck out 11 to earn the victory. She was 2 for 4 with two RBIs and two runs scored. Brooke Wills was 2 for 4 with a triple, RBI, and two runs scored. Krystle Schweers doubled twice and scored a pair of runs. The Rising Sun baseball team (12-1) suffered its first loss of the season Friday in dramatic fashion. North Harford's Nic Hammer blasted a three-run homer in the bottom of the 14th inning to propel the Hawks to a 10-9 triumph. It was the continuation of a game that began at North Harford March 31 and was halted by darkness with the score tied at 7 after nine innings. The Perryville track and field team took part in a three-team meet Wednesday afternoon.
It was considered a Panthers' home meet but was held at Patterson Mill. Perryville (87) finished first in the boys competition with Harford Tech (63) second and Patterson Mill (26) third. The Rising Sun boys lacrosse team recorded an 11-8 triumph over host Aberdeen Tuesday night, April 22.
