Rising Sun captured the Little League Maryland District 5 Junior Division baseball title in convincing fashion.
Rising Sun walloped a weary Chesapeake City team 18-1 in four innings Friday night at Eder Park. Chesapeake City's 8-10 softball All-Stars defeated Perryville 3-1 Saturday morning to force a decisive game to determine the District 5 champion.
The two teams will meet again Sunday at 10 a.m. in a winner take all matchup. Rising Sun's Junior League baseball All-Stars won five straight do-or-die games to capture the District 5 title.
