It was still a successful night in every meaningful way. Proceeds benefitted the Joshua Hamer Memorial Scholarship Fund. Hamer, a Rising Sun-area native who played baseball at John Carroll, died in a vehicle collision in March, 2017. DiGiambattista finished with four RBIs as the Panthers gained a measure of revenge against a Tiger team that had staged a seventh inning rally to take the first meeting between the schools. "We just kind of kept our focus, which is playing like kind of laid back," DiGiambattista said. "I feel like the first game against Rising Sun we were kind of like uptight and [in the second meeting], once we were in it we found our groove. We strung some hits together." The Rising Sun girls lacrosse team overcame a slow start to tie the game in the second half but host Havre de Grace scored the game's final two goals to top the Tigers 6-4 Thursday night, April 12.
