Entering the final bout of last Wednesday night's match with Harford Tech, Perryville coach Thad Gough theorized that not many people outside of the Panthers' wrestling room were aware of freshman Adam Campbell.
That changed last Wednesday night as Campbell's come-from-behind 10-7 victory propelled Perryville to a 39-36 triumph over visiting Harford Tech. "This is great. This is awesome," Gough said. "This is the best part of the whole sport." Jacob Falko poured in 29 points to lift the Tr-State Christian Academy boys basketball team to a 57-38 triumph over host Perryville Tuesday, December 19.
The Perryville girls basketball team notched its first win of the season by defeating Tri-State Christian Academy 63-39 Tuesday, December 19.
The Rising Sun girls basketball team used a fullcourt pressure defense to post a 40-26 triumph over visiting Octorara Monday, December 18.
The Perryville boys basketball team lost 73-36 to visiting West Nottingham Academy Tuesday afternoon, December 12.
Rising Sun senior Ethan Greene said he simply wanted to do his part.
He accomplished that and then some. Greene poured in 37 points – including 29 in the second half – to propel the Tigers to a 69-60 victory over visiting Harford Christian Monday night, December 11. Despite losing the season opener at Elkton 64-28 last Thursday night, Rising Sun girls basketball coach Kathy Stoudt is not discouraged. Far from it.
