The Rising Sun girls cross country team turned in an outstanding performance at the Maryland Track and Trail Invitational Saturday at Fair Hill. The Tigers placed third in the Small Schools division behind Catoctin and Cambridge-South Dorchester. Emma Wheeler paced Rising Sun with a 15th place finish, one spot ahead of teammate Alanah Bell. Josie Brown was 22nd followed by Kiona Brady (27th), Cate Dymowski (36th), Araianna Wheeler (38th), Brinley Farrall (40th), Erin Montgomery (49th), and Carley Cooperman (54th).
Perryville was fifth in the 10-team competition with Bohemia Manor sixth. Allison Morris was 17th to lead Perryville, one position in front of Sierra Montz. Aleah Losoya was 20th. Elle Meyer was 13th to lead Bohemia Manor with teammate Jamie Rhudy 14th. North East's Erin Palmer led all county runners with a sixth place finish. On the boys side, Bohemia Manor's indomitable Ty Franks posted another victory. His time of 15:46 was the fastest of the day, 25 seconds quicker than the individual winner of the Large Schools race, Patrick Munro of Wootton. The Eagles were third in the team standings with Luke Salata (15th) also cracking the Top 20. Perryville placed fifth paced by Tyler McCall (10th) and Matt Salvatore (12th). Phil Hurm of Rising Sun was seventh overall and the Tigers were eighth in the team competition. Patrick Gerhard was 19th to lead Elkton. Comments are closed.
