Perryville hosted a cross country meet on school grounds for the first time Tuesday, September 16. The Panthers typically hold home meets at Perryville Community Park. But the Perryville runners expressed a desire to have a meet at the school and coach Jake Moore and may others made it happen. The race began and ended on the Panthers' new track. In between, runners went around the school's athletic fields and in front of the school building. The course also included two trips through a path cut out of the woods behind Perryville's football stadium.
North Harford made itself at home on the Panthers' course by winning both team competitions. Hawks' runners also finishing first in both the girls and boys race. Casey Welch won the girls race in a time of 21 minutes flat. North Harford runners occupied the top six spots. Perryville's Sierra Montz was seventh followed by teammates Aleah Losoya, Allison Morris, and Kayla Losoya. Didem Akbay was 13th, a spot ahead of Brooke Doane. As expected, North Harford's Nick Fransham dominated the boys race in a time of 16:16, 1:07 in front of the Panthers' Tyler McCall. Matt Salvatore was fifth. Ryan Kiger (11th), Zach Buckson (17th), and Clayton Searles (18th) each finished in the Top 20. Three Tome runners placed in the Top 10 led by Cody McDaniel who was sixth. Luke LoPresto was ninth. He is the son of Perryville teacher John LoPresto, who serves as the starter for Panthers' meets. The Titans' Joe Llewellyn placed 10th. Comments are closed.
