Alex Longeway of Bohemia Manor finished first again. The Eagles' junior overcame a sluggish first 200 meters to capture the 1600 meter state title Saturday at Morgan State – his second championship of the meet. North East swept the Susquehanna Division track and field meet held Tuesday, April 24.
The host Indians captured both the boys and girls team competitions. Perryville's track and field teams both opened the season by prevailing in a three-team home meet Tuesday, March 27.
Perryville girls track and field took first in the 1A North Region Meet held at Kent Island High School last week.
The girls (163.5) topped Patterson Mill (147), Bo Manor (85), Joppatowne (75.5), Surrattsville (57), McDonough (47), Chesapeake Science Point (42), Havre de Grace (37), Fairmount Heights (10), and Internat'l HS@ Langley Park (5). Bo Manor boys track and field team captured first at the 1A North Region Meet held at Kent Island High School last week.
The boys (142) triumphed over Fairmont Heights (103), Havre de Grace (98), Perryville (85), Surrattsville (71), Joppatowne (48), Patterson Mill (47), Chesapeake Science Point (37), McDonough (36), Internat'l HS @ Langley Park (17). North East boys track and field team finished first and the girls tied for second in a home tri-meet last Tuesday, May 9. The boys (83) topped Bel Air (51) and North Harford (40). Taylor Danglade claimed the 100 and 200 distance races. Jordan McCollum triumphed in the 400 race. Danny Leek prevailed in the 800 race and took second in the 1600. Eli Granger took the 110 hurdle and teammate Grant Handley placed first in the 300 hurdles. Jordan McCollum, Tiko Wimbush, Danglade, and Jalen Giles together placed first in the 4x100 relay race. Perryville girls track and field team placed first and the boys also placed first in a three team meet held at Havre de Grace High school last Tuesday May 9.
The Panthers (96) topped Rising Sun (59) and Havre de Grace (30). Zachary Laird, Alex Longeway, John Knight, and Anthony Egurola each scored in their events to lead Bo Manor's boys track team to a second place finish in UCBAC meet. Edgewood won the boys competition with 106 points while Bo Manor scored 96. Harford Tech (84) was third followed by Bel Air (64), Havre de Grace (53), Perryville (50), Aberdeen (50), C. Milton Wright (48.5), North East (39.5), Elkton (28), Fallston (19.33), North Harford (17.33), Rising Sun (17), Joppatowne (16), and Patterson Mill (13.33). Perryville girls track and field team finished first and the boys were second in a home three-team meet last Tuesday, April 4. The girls (98.5) topped Bo Manor (44) and Elkton (39.5). Kailee McCutchen claimed the two hurdle events. Jarah Cevis won the shot put and was second in the discus whith her teammate Christen Dodson took first. Ellie Kuhn prevailed in the triple jump. Mckayla Reeves captured the high jump. Megan O'Neal won the long jump for Elks For Bo Manor, Kristen Walz swept the 400 and 800 meter distance races. Elle Meyer took the 1600 and Aubrey Preseke triumphed in the 3200. The Elks' took two of the relay races, Rae'oni Garnett, Kyla Wilson, Sonali Shahm and Makayla Peterson, combined triumphed in the 4x200 and the 4x400. In the boys team competition, Bo Manor (83) defeated Perryville (73), and Elkton (27). |
