Chesapeake City and Elkton entered the week as the two undefeated teams in the 9-10 baseball tournament being played in Havre de Grace. LOSERS BRACKET North East 13, Havre de Grace 0 Brandon Tolbert was 3 for 4 and Hunter Russell and Riley Brady each added a pair of hits. Rising Sun 20, Perryville 2 Adam Snyder was 3 for 5 with a triple. Jason Mock was 3 for 5 and Jeff Leonard was 3 for 4. Austin McGrady and Sam Hogue each added a pair of hits. Jon Valentine tripled. For Perryville, Anthony Cole, Austen Bowman, and Erik Lee each had a hit. SECOND ROUND
Chesapeake City 15, North East 5 (five innings) Chris Chambers singled and scored four runs. Dalton Arrants doubled and scored three times. Ryan Seibel tripled and scored for North East. Elkton 17, Rising Sun 9 Elkton overcame a 7-1 deficit capped off by an 11-run rally in the bottom of the fifth. Trailing 8-6 in the fifth, Elkton tied the game on three walks, a hit batsman, and a wild pitch. Mason Walklett drove in the go-ahead run on a dribbler up the first base line. Three more runs scored on a wild pitch and an error. Nolan Null blasted a triple down the left field line and scored on a wild pitch. Conner Hepner later belted a two-run double to left-center and Aidan Pressler contributed an RBI triple. Rising Sun had jumped on top with six runs in the first. Lane Weismiller, Ethan Gullion, and Jeff Leonard each drew a bases loaded walk. Jon Valentine bounced a two-run single up the middle and another run scored on an error. Walklett did an outstanding job in relief, coming on in the first and keeping his team in the game. FIRST ROUND Chesapeake City 19, Perryville 7 (four innings) Logan Boettcher was 3 for 4 and Chris Chambers and Logan Fehlman each added a pair of hits for the victors.
