Thomas Ray Trimble of North East died Sunday, May 22, 2016 in the Union Hospital of Cecil County, Elkton. He was 54.
He was born in Ohio on June 14, 1961. Mr. Trimble worked at Perryville Cold Storage as a material handler/forklift operator. Walter Richard "Andy/ Pop" Anderson of North East died at home Friday, May 20, 2016. He was 86.
Born in Elk Neck on December 28, 1929, he was the grandson of the late Carl and Maggie Anderson. Mr. Anderson was an avid Chevrolet enthusiast having owned and operated Andy's Auto Sales. He retired from Chesapeake Care Resources in 2015. Lynda Snellings of Wilmington, Del., died Thursday, May 12, 2016 in the Hospital of the University of Penn Medical Center, Philadelphia, Pa. She was 67. Born in Leonardtown on February 28, 1949, she was the daughter of the late John and the late Helen (Owens) Morgan. She operated Tendercare Learning Center, North East. She enjoyed watching the birds, butterflies listening to music, kids and nature. She was a sweet, kind, gentle person who was the best mother and “Sasha” she could be to her grandchild, Emerson Luke and many, many others she treated as her own. Robert H. Fields of North East and Summerfield, Fla. died Friday, May 6, 2016 in Union Hospital, Elkton. He was 78. Bob was born February 7, 1938 in Tazewell, Va., son of Ethel Phoebe Church and Johnnie Fields. Mr. Fields served for six years in the United States Air Force. Before retiring, was employed at General Cable, Perelli Cable, Thiokol, Daily Express Trucking and was an independent trucker for over 25 years. He enjoyed playing cards and horse racing at Delaware Park, as well as spending time at his Florida residence. He was an avid sports fan who followed his beloved Orioles and Ravens faithfully. Mr. Fields enjoyed spending time with his family. Helen Gladys Hypes of Elkton died at home Wednesday, April 27, 2016. She was 94. She was born in Newhall, W.Va., on July 7, 1921. Mrs. Hypes was a homemaker who enjoyed taking care of her family, watching birds and listening to gospel music. She is survived by two daughters, Sharon McMillan (Arthur) of Elkton, Vina Bright (Harry) of Townsend, Del. and one son, Bernard C. Hypes, Jr. of Elkton; her grandchildren, Arthur McMillan, Jr., Valerie McMillan, Crystal Rau, David Bright, Aaron Bright, Budd Hypes; and 18 great grandchildren. George C. Reynolds, Jr. of Fallston died at home on Friday, April 22, 2016. He was 91. He was the son of George C. Reynolds, Sr. and Pauline (Craig) Reynolds of North East. Mr. Reynolds was drafted into the Army at the age of 18. He served from May 1943 to January 1946 with the 534th Amphibious Armored Infantry Battalion in the Pacific Theater of Operations. He retired from the Budd Company in Troy, Michigan, in 1984 after 33 years. Following his retirement, he enjoyed playing golf, traveling, woodworking and spending time with his family. James Ellsworth "Jimmy" Russell, Jr. of North East died at home Tuesday, April 19, 2016. He was 57. A lifelong resident of Cecil County, he was born in Elkton on August 29, 1958. Mr. Russell worked as an excavator operator for First Choice Foundations, Elkton. He was an avid fan of NASCAR and the Dallas Cowboys. Paige Fuller Reed of North East died Saturday, April 16, 2016 in the Seasons Hospice & Palliative Care in Christiana Hospital, Newark, Del. He was 79. Born in North Royalton, Ohio, on March 19, 1937, he was the son of John Arthur Reed and Vivian Elenor Marriott Reed. Mr. Reed was a member of the Moore Society which traces the Reed family members back to the Mayflower. He was also associated with American Pyrotechnic Association (APA), Pyrotechnics Guild International (PGI), and the National Fireworks Association (NFA). He retired from the U.S. Army with 22 years of service, was stationed throughout the U.S., Germany, and saw action in Vietnam. Upon retiring from the military, he went to work for RCA in Camden, N.J. Marvin R. Janney Sr. of Rising Sun died at home on Monday, April 18, 2016. He was 86. Mr. Janney was born in Virginia, a son of the late Brown and Rosie Harrington Janney. He worked as a self-employed logger. Mr. Janney was a member of Porters Grove Baptist Church. He was an avid Baltimore Orioles fan. Carolyn Simpkins of Perryville died Sunday, April 17, 2016 in the University of Maryland Harford Memorial Hospital of Havre de Grace,. She was 77.
Born March 8, 1939 in Bridgeton, N.J, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Myrtle Watson Kirkbride. Mrs. Simpkins was a member of the Perryville United Methodist Church and was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary to the Community Fire Company of Perryville. |
