Paige Fuller Reed of North East died Saturday, April 16, 2016 in the Seasons Hospice & Palliative Care in Christiana Hospital, Newark, Del. He was 79. Born in North Royalton, Ohio, on March 19, 1937, he was the son of John Arthur Reed and Vivian Elenor Marriott Reed. Mr. Reed was a member of the Moore Society which traces the Reed family members back to the Mayflower. He was also associated with American Pyrotechnic Association (APA), Pyrotechnics Guild International (PGI), and the National Fireworks Association (NFA). He retired from the U.S. Army with 22 years of service, was stationed throughout the U.S., Germany, and saw action in Vietnam. Upon retiring from the military, he went to work for RCA in Camden, N.J. He left to pursue his love of fireworks. Mr. Reed was the founder of Fireworks Productions which once shot the July 4 fireworks displays for North East, Elkton, Havre de Grace, the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra, and other organizations and locations throughout Maryland and surrounding states, extending down to the state of Florida. He left the display portion of the industry to become owner and operator of Patriotic Fireworks, a wholesale distributor of family fireworks.
He is survived by his wife, April (Rickards) Frederici; three daughters, Renee Reed Sloan, Sheree Reed Doe, and Cathleen Reed Wisham; sister, Cheryl Lynn Reed Figure and brother, John Dale Reed; stepson, Erik Frederici; grandchildren, Brittaney Canupp, Daniel Wisham, and step grandson Michael Doe. He is also survived by his dogs, Reginald and Sophia. A family reunion and memorial will be held later in the year. Comments are closed.
