Albert Wayne McGuigan of Conowingo died at home Thursday, November 28, 2013. He was 78.
Born May 26, 1935 in Cape May, NJ, he was the son of the late William Paul and Mae Hallburner McGuigan. Craig William Garland of Felton, Del. died at home November 24, 2013. He was 43.
Born in Havre de Grace, on September 24, 1970, he was the son of Frank and Carole (Van Evera) Garland. Mattie E. Moore of Elkton died Tuesday, November 26, 2013 at Abbey Manor Assisted Living, Elkton. She was 94. A lifetime resident of Cecil County, she was born in Earleville on October 19, 1919, the daughter of the late William and the late Minnie E. (Wrightson) Gettshall. Prior to her retirement, Mrs. Moore worked at the North East Laundromat. Stephen Safarik of Perryville, formerly of Maspeth, N.Y., died Sunday, November 24, 2013. He was 94. Born in the former Czechoslovakia, he immigrated to the United States at age three. He was the son of the late Stephen and Irene Safarik. Mr. Safarik was a member of a Hungarian dance troop and performed at the 1939 New York World's Fair. A proud veteran of the United States Army, he served in World War II as a radio repairman in the 28th Infantry Regiment - 8th Div. Reconnaissance Troop, which included service at the Battle of Normandy. After receiving his honorable discharge, he had a successful career with Mainco Elevator & Electrical Corp. in New York City. Douglas Lycurgas Stewart of Baltimore, formerly of Port Deposit, died Saturday, November 23, 2013 in the Loch Raven Community Living Center, Baltimore. He was 88.
Born July 20, 1925 in Port Deposit, he was the son of the late William J., Sr. and Catherine M. Mason Stewart. Mr. Stewart was a veteran of the U.S. Army Air Force having served during World War II. Lois Dale Russell, a lifelong resident of Cecil County, died Tuesday, November 19, 2013 at her daughter and son-in-law’s home in Crumpton. She was 85. Born in Elkton on October 29, 1928, she was the daughter of the late Dorian Dale and the late Kathryn Louise (Simmons) Jamison. Mrs. Russell retired from the State of Maryland after 20 years of service in the Equity Dept. of the Clerk of the Court. Nancy Ann Briscoe died Sunday, November 17, 2013 at Union Hospital, Elkton. She was 68.
She was the eldest of five born October 7, 1945 to the late Chris Ann Briscoe. Most of her life she enjoyed doing caretaking work. Edith Mae Hall of Conowingo, formerly of Aberdeen, died November 23, 2013. She was 71. Born in Fountain Green on June 22, 1942, she was the daughter of the late Fred and Ola Anderson. Mrs. Hall worked at Perry Point Hospital and lived most of her life in Aberdeen where she and her husband raised their children. David Ronald Dawson of Port Deposit died Thursday, November 21, 2013 at Johns Hopkins Hospital, Sidney Kimmel Cancer Center of Baltimore. He was 74.
Born October 7, 1939 in Perryville, he was the son of the late John Bernhard and Pearl Blansfield Dawson. April Anne Palmer LeTourneau of North East died November 20, 2013. She was 41.
Born in Havre de Grace on February 4, 1972, she was the daughter of Josephine Newsome Keithley and the late Wayne Edward Palmer, Sr. Mrs. LeTourneau was a homemaker and was devoted to her family and took great pride in caring for her home. |
