Martha Gray Juba of Deland, Fla., formerly of North East, died at home on April 22, 2014. She was 66. Born March 31, 1948 in Rich Valley, Va., she was the daughter of the late Harvey and Minnie Bise. As a Registered Nurse, Mrs. Juba was formerly employed by the V.A. Maryland Health Care System of Perry Point, and was retired from the Delaware State Hospital of Wilmington, Del. She enjoyed traveling, knitting, cross stitching, and gardening. Lisa Marie Jianniney of Elkton died Sunday, April 27, 2014 in Elkton. She was 41. She was born on, February 6, 1973, the daughter of Robert G. and Nancy Johnson, of Elkton. She was employed at Liqui Box in Elkton. She enjoyed spending time with her daughters. `She is survived by her daughters, Dharma, Zoe, and Keira Jianniney; her sister and two brothers: Nancy Zahn, Paul Glenn Johnson, and Robert J. Johnson all of Elkton. She was the wife of the late Curtis P. Jianniney who died on Oct. 6, 2013. Donna Lee Morris of Upper Marlboro died January 23, 2014 at Med Star Washington Medical Hospital Center in Washington, DC. She was 59. Born in Wilmington, Del., on December 13, 1954, she was the only child of Ida Morris and the late Bradford Leon Morris. In 1956, she and her mother moved to Chicago and returned to Rising Sun in 1964. She was a member of the National Honor Society, and also won various art awards in high school and received further art training at Fine Arts Regional Center. Norma Gean Johnson of North East, died at home Friday, April 25, 2014. She was 42.
A lifelong resident of Cecil County, she was born in Elkton on May 11, 1971. She worked in food service. Thomas J. Newlin Jr. of Chesapeake City died Sunday, April 27, 2014. He was 78.
Born in Chester, Pa. on June 6, 1935, he was the son of the late Thomas Sr. and Ruby Curry Newlin. Mr. Newlin retired from the Cecil County Board of Education where he had been a music teacher and band director at Rising Sun High School. Anna Lieske Renn of Rising Sun died April 24, 2014, at Calvert Manor Healthcare Center. She was 101.
A Cecil County resident most of her life, she was born in Baltimore, on Feb. 10, 1913, the daughter of the late Emil and Anna Siebert Lieske. Rachel Catherine Cowan of Colora died April 23, 2014 at Lorien Healthcare in Havre de Grace. She was 96.
Born on May 11, 1917, she was the daughter of the late James and Rachel Boyd McFadden. Mrs. Cowan was a Registered Nurse and trained in Middletown, N.Y. She practiced nursing for a time at Harford Memorial Hospital and then married Fred M. Cowan in 1939. Eric Daniel Shertz of Elkton died Sunday, April 20, 2014. He was 38.
Born in Wilmington, Del. on April 23, 1975, he was the son of Jean Maucher of Lancaster, Pa. and Paul Shertz and wife Debbie of Bear, Del. Mr. Shertz was employed as a planner with Cecil County Planning and Zoning. He was a business manager for Bearfight FC (Philadelphia Union Soccer Club) and a great supporter through his membership with Sons of Ben. Howard J. Schuckler, "Bussie" and "Grand Bus", died at home on April 21, 2014. He was born on June 28, 1920 in Wilmington, Del., son of the late Howard and Catherine Schuckler. From the time he was a young man, he loved to fly planes. This passion carried over into his military life when he was a pilot in World War II where he served as a captain with the India-China division of the Air Transport Command and in the Korean Conflict where he earned a Purple Heart. After the war, Howard lived in Charlestown, where he help build and volunteer for the fire department. It was there that he developed his interest in the bay and earned his captain’s license. Jayden Christopher Stiltner was born and died on Sunday, April 20, 2014 at Christiana Hospital, Newark.
He is survived by his father, Tommy Stiltner and mother Margo Rowles of Elktonl three brothers, Austin Crouse of North East, Jacob Stiltner and Joey Stiltner of Elkton; maternal grandparents Flora and Bill Snyder of North East; paternal grandparents Tommy and Kathy Stiltner of Elktonl and step grandfather Tom Harrington of Elkton. He was preceded in death by a brother, Brendon Stiltner. A gravside service will be held Saturday, April 26 at 2 p.m. at North East Methodist Cemetery. |
