    Juanita Lynn (Collins) Suppa, 74 of Charlestown, MD, died Friday, December 14, 2018 in the Heartland Hospice House, Wilmington, DE.
     Born in Elkton, MD, on August 7, 1944, she was the daughter of Kellis Sr., and Gladys (Smith) Collins. She is the wife of the late Benedict P. “Benny” Suppa, Sr. who died June 18, 1998.
     She was a homemaker, who enjoyed animals, yard sales, playing cards and her Senior Cokes at McDonalds.
     Juanita is survived by two sons: Benedict P. Suppa, Jr. and Troy M. Suppa (Trish) of Charlestown, MD; two sisters: Rebecca Burton of North East, MD, and Emily Vuotto (John) of Collegeville, PA; brothers: Delbert Collins (late wife, Barbara), Harold "Butch" Collins and Rodney Collins all of North East, MD; sister-in-law and traveling companion: Julia Liburdi of Charlestown, MD (They are known as the “Golden Girls of Charlestown”);  grandchildren: Troy Suppa, Jr., Laura Suppa and Amber McGonigal; and greatgrandchildren: Aidan, Olivia and Ellie.

    Maggie Ora Lea Pugh, 90 of North East, MD, passed away Wednesday, December 12, 2018 at home surrounded by her loving family.
    Born in Mouth of Wilson, VA, on July 23, 1928, she was the daughter of the late Charlie and Virginia (Little) Davis.  She was the wife of the late Lester Pugh.
    Mrs. Pugh was a former member of Baptist Bible Church, Elkton, MD, where she was a longtime Sunday School teacher.  She enjoyed sewing, quilting, crafts, cooking, and gardening.
    Survivors include her two sons: Michael R. Pugh (Andrea) and G. Steven Pugh (Diane) all of Elkton, MD; a sister: Pauline Smith of Bel Air, MD; 6 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren.

    Barbara Hammons, of North East, passed away Tuesday, December 11, 2018 at home. She was 58.
    Born in Elkton, on November 24, 1960, she was the daughter of the late Edward Crawford and the late Virginia M. (Jones) Crawford.   
    She was a warehouse employee and enjoyed crocheting, puzzles and art.
    Survivors include her loving husband: William “Bubby” Hammons; children: Charles Barton, Glenn Miller, Jessica Lynn Plank, Ashley Marie Hammons and William R. "Moose" Hammons III all of North East; her siblings:  Paul Crawford (Barbara), Susan V. Rinehart, Floyd Hines (Kathy), Jimmy Hines (Becky) and Lisa Crawford; and 8 grandchildren.

    Irma Rae Mason, 67 of North East, MD, died Tuesday, December 11, 2018 in the Union Hospital of Cecil County, Elkton, MD.
    Born in FL, on August 29, 1951, she was the daughter of the late Robert and the late Irma (Zittel) Fausel.   
    Irma was a breeder of American Cocker Spaniels and a member of the American Kennel Club.  She truly loved dogs and would help rescue for the SPCA.

    John M. Shires, 78, of Oxford, PA passed away Tuesday, December 11, 2018 at his home.
    He was the husband of Rebecca L. Weaver Shires with whom he shared 58 years of marriage.
    Born in Elkton, MD he was the son of the late Rev. John and Ethel Gray Shires.
    John retired from Gore, Inc., Elkton, MD and Newark, DE.
    He attended Oxford United Methodist Church.
    John enjoyed playing golf with his wife, Becky and family. He was an Eagles and Phillies fan.
    He is survived by his wife; three daughters, Terry Shires Smyth (John) of Oxford, Sherry Shires Damico of Lancaster and Jonna Shires Ryman of Oxford; six grandchildren, Jayme Weakland (Frank), Charles Clendenin, Richard Clendenin, John McClure, Adam McClure, and Emily Velazquez (Josh); four great-grandchildren, Lucas, Austin, Penny and Carter; and two sisters, Lois Haley (Donald) and Darlene Baluta (George) all of Pleasant Hill, MD.

    Dennis Lloyd Hill, age 61, of Cockeysville, MD, formerly of Rising Sun, MD, passed away Wednesday, December 5, 2018 in the University of Maryland St. Joseph Medical Center, Towson, MD, surrounded by his loved ones.
    He enjoyed reading and studying the Bible.  He was an avid, self-taught guitarist.  He enjoyed listening to country music when he wasn’t playing it, as well as fishing, spending time on his boat, and visiting museums.  He was an expertly skilled carpenter by trade.
    Dennis was a veteran of the US Army and served as an Indirect Fire Infantryman.
    He was born in West Grove, PA and lived most of his life in Rising Sun, MD.
    He is preceded in death by both parents, James Hershel and Janet C. Hill (Horn).

    Dale “Brownie” Leslie Brown, Sr., went home to be with the Lord on Friday, December 7, 2018 peacefully passing away at home. Born January 7, 1943 in Perryville, MD, he was the son of the late Arthur and Mabel Brown.
    “Brownie” was a member of the Perryville Volunteer Fire Company Station No. 6-16. He was an independent over-the-road truck driver and a Cecil County Public School bus contractor.
    Survivors include his wife, Janet Hunter Brown; son, Dale Leslie Brown, Jr. and wife, Lynn Marie Brown; grandchildren, Kiri Lynn Brown, Rachel Skye Southard and Tara Lee Brown; great grandchildren, Alex Bechtel, Jr., Skyler Bechtel and Wyatt Rosen; sister, Barbara A. Brown of Perryville, MD; and many nieces and nephews.
    In addition to his parents, Dale was preceded in death by his grandson, Dale Leslie Brown, III and granddaughter, Cira N. Brown.

    Daniel W. Holmes, 52 of North East, MD, passed away suddenly Thursday, December 6, 2018.
    He was born in Havre de Grace, MD, on December 20, 1965.
    Daniel served his country proudly in the U.S. Navy.  He worked as a warehouse operator for IKEA.
    He was a member of his Union Local for IKEA and enjoyed the Ravens, music and cooking.  Most of all he loved his family and the time spent with them.  His constant companion was his dog, Tank.  
    Survivors include his mother: Betty (Wood) Page of North East, MD; companion: Lori Harris of North East, MD; his children: : Kiefer Maxwell (Gladis) of Fort Hood, TX, Allura Barton (Tristan) of Fort Carson, CO; Noah Holmes and Skylar Holmes both of North East, MD; one brother: David Holmes (Tamara) of Elkton, MD; a sister-in-law: Tina Holmes of North East, MD; 4 grandchildren: Lena, Kayden, Olexa and Kayson; many nieces and nephews with a grandniece on the way.

    Joshua Michael Meehan of Rising Sun died November 30, 2018. He was 24.
    He was born on September 23, 1994 in Elkton, to Bonnie and Jack Meehan.
    Joshua was a graduate of Rising Sun High School class of 2013. He played tennis in high school, travel soccer and learned to play the piano at a young age.
    He also enjoyed snowboarding and creating innovative designs. His heart was full of love for others and especially his family. His laughter was contagious. He loved raising animals from bearded dragons, chickens and goats to rare species of fish.
    Joshua had a limitless quest for knowledge and was currently taking classes at Cecil College while working in the athletic department. He was undeniably bright. Joshua was a certified medical assistant and did some modeling part-time. He loved the Lord and desired others to share in that love.

Sally "Snippy" Goldsborough Lambert, died November 22

    Sally “Snippy” Goldsborough Lambert passed away peacefully in her home surrounded by her devoted husband of more than 44 years and three loving daughters following a year long battle with cancer.
    Born Sally Carol Goldsborough on March 8, 1951 to Sally Steuart and Lt. Colonel Richard Hooper Goldsborough of Baltimore, she quickly earned the nickname “Snippy” that she would carry her entire life. Upon graduating in 1970 from St. Paul’s School for Girls, she began her studies at The University of Alabama where she was a member of Alpha Chi Omega sorority. She graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Psychology in 1974. Snippy was involved in many volunteer and philanthropic organizations including the Junior League of Baltimore, Junior League of Birmingham and she was active on the junior board of the Birmingham Music Club. She later went to work at Bayside Community Network for 25 years and was the Lead Manager of Residential Programs upon her retirement in June of 2018.
    Snippy’s greatest joy came from her six grandchildren. She was an amazing and involved grandmother to Mark Hunter, Randolph Steuart and Hooper Goldsborough Dabbs, Julian Lambert and Sophia Grace Tarricone and Riley Michael Bowles.
    Her parents Sally Steuart and Lt. Col Richard Hooper Goldsborough of Baltimore preceded her in death.
