Lillian Wyatt of Colora died at home August 30, 2015. She was 80. Born in North Carolina on October 3, 1934, she was the daughter of the late Mack Murray and the late Verdie Murray. Mrs. Wyatt worked for several years at a local sewing factory before becoming a home day care provider. She enjoyed family and children, especially her furry son (the dog), Brownie. Margie Ethel Madron died at home on Sunday, August 30, 2015. . She was 98. Born in Vivian, W.Va. on March 26, 1917, she was the daughter of the late Frazier and Fannie McPeak. Mrs. Madron worked many years at the Fawn Grove Manufacturing Company in Rising Sun until its closing. She was a long time member of the Rising Sun Church of Nazarene. Mrs. Madron enjoyed cake decorating, gardening, vegetables and flowers, quilting, sewing, cooking and canning. William Dudley Carter of North East died Thursday, August 27, 2015 in the Perry Point VA Medical Center. He was 73.
Born in Spokane, Wash., on November 6, 1941, he was the son of the late Dudley and the late Mae (Bond) Carter. He served his country during the Vietnam War in the Army. Mr. Carter established AC Auto Sales, North East. He formerly was an agent for A.C. Litzenberg Real Estate, a licensed barber, auctioneer, and had various other business ventures and accomplishments in his life. Carolyn A. Neil, 71, of Lilac Drive New Providence, PA died Wednesday, August 26, 2015 at Lancaster General Hospital.
She was the loving wife of Robert B. Neil with whom she celebrated 40 years of marriage. Born in Rosedale, MD, she was the daughter of the late John & Carole Summers Majchrzak. Carolyn had previously been employed as a cashier for Safeway Grocery Store for 15 years, and then as an assistant manager for Travel Centers of America for 12 years, from which she retired. John G. Taylor of Conowingo died Wednesday, August 26, 2015, at Baltimore Washington Medical Center, Glen Burnie. He was 56.
Born in Elkton, he was the son of Lois J. MacInnes of Rising Sun, and the late Everett C. Taylor. Daniel LeRoy Melrath, Sr., 66, of Colora, MD, formerly of Oxford, passed away on Monday, August 24, 2015 at Johns Hopkins Hospital Baltimore, MD. He was the husband of Bernadette Ignatowski Melrath. Born in West Grove, he was the son of Harry Melrath of Oxford and the late Melba Bise Melrath. Daniel was a member of the American Legion Mason Dixon Post #194, Rising Sun, MD, Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie #2666, Oxford and the Terrace Athletic Club New Castle, DE. He enjoyed gardening, going crabbing, working on cars and taking care of his beloved Babee. Dennis Charles Maxwell, Sr., 54 of Elkton, MD, died Sunday, August 23, 2015 at home.
A lifelong resident of Cecil County, he was born in Elkton on September 17, 1960, the son of the late James E. Maxwell, Sr. and Mavis Ima Jean (Potter) Maxwell of Elkton, MD Dennis retired from Chrysler Corp., Newark, DE. He was a member of the United Auto Workers Union and the Elkton Church of Christ. He enjoyed music, singing and playing the guitar. He loved spending time with his family, especially playing with his grandchildren. Charles Samuel Hall of Elkton died suddenly Friday, August 21, 2015. He was 30.
A lifelong resident of Cecil County, he was born in Elkton on February 15, 1985, the son of the late Clarence Samuel 'Junie' Hall and Beverly (Jones) Hall Poff and her husband, Charles. He worked in construction and enjoyed working on cars, especially Hondas. Mr. Hall loved being outside, at the water at North East Community Park. Most of all, he loved spending time with his wife and kids. John Robert "Jack" Baker of Perryville died Saturday, August 22, 2015 in Union Hospital of Cecil County, Elkton. He was 77. Born October 3, 1937 in Cecil County, he was the son of the late Vernon Cornelius and Keturah Ann McCain Baker. Mr. Baker was a graduate of Perryville High School's Class of 1957 and a veteran of the United States Army. He was retired from Aberdeen Proving Ground. Judith Elaine Ratledge of Rising Sun died Thursday, August 20, 2015 in Christiana Hospital of Newark, Del. She was 63.
Born January 8, 1952 in Rising Sun, she was the daughter of the late David L. and Sara A. Rakes Patrick. She was employed as an Administrative Assistant by Aberdeen Proving Ground. She loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren, and going to the beach. |
