Nelson Wayne Sutton, ‘Big Bear’ or ‘Chewy’, 59 of Rising Sun died at home Friday, February 12, 2016. He was 59. A lifelong resident of Cecil County, he was born in Elkton, on January 15, 1957, the son of the late Charles C. Sutton, Sr. and Sarah Jane (Armour) Sutton. Employed by Amtrak for 38 years, he worked as a welder foreman. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, riding his Harley, ping pong, softball, pool and was a member of Conowingo Baptist Church. Survivors include his wife, Rosemary McCaslin Sutton of Rising Sun; his children, Jammie Sutton-Kelly and Brian Wayne Sutton both of North East; three stepsons, Jeremy Maldonado of Bear, Del., Michael Tracy of West Grove, Pa., and Lance Cpl. Robert L. Crowl III of Twenty-nine Palms, Cal.; three brothers: Ronald P. "Buck" Edwards of Birchtree, Mich., Earl V. "Willie" Edwards and Charles C. "Jake" Sutton both of North East; two sisters, Hallie M. Edwards of Pittsburgh, Pa., Linda J. Bungard of Elkton; and four grandchildren, Kassidy Alley, Emma Maldonado, Ally Maldonado and Robert 'B4' Crowl IV. He is also survived by his beloved dog, Cash.
In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his brother, Francis ‘Luke’ Edwards. A memorial benefit will be held Saturday, February 20, from 5-10 p.m. at VFW Post 6027 of North East, 815 Turkey Point Road, North East. Comments are closed.
