Karen Lemmerman Mueller, 63 of North East, MD, passed away Monday, July 24, 2017 at Seasons Hospice & Palliative Care, Christiana Hospital, Newark, DE.
She was born in Hartford, CT, on May 14, 1954. Prior to her retirement, Karen was an Art Teacher at Rising Sun High School. She is survived by her loving husband: Rodney Mueller; her mother: Margaret (Hall) Bagley of Chestertown, MD; and her siblings: Patricia Lemmerman of North East, MD, Sandra Lemmerman of Durham, ME, Richard Douglas Lemmerman, Jr. of Clemons, NC and Deborah Lemmerman Palmer of Hudson, MA. Sundee Elizabeth Nutter, of North East, passed away Tuesday, July 11, 2017 in Mercy Medical Center, Baltimore. She was 49. She was born in Baltimore, on July 23, 1967. Sundee started her career as a Dispatcher with the Cecil County Sheriff’s Office and continued as a Police Communication Officer with the Department of Emergency Services. A member of the Christian Motorcycle Assoc. and Crossroads Bible Church, she enjoyed quilting, was an avid photographer and an awesome cook. Most of all Sundee loved her family, godchildren and all those she considered family, her friends, coworkers and emergency responders she guided daily. Joan Varmette Russell, 85, of North East, MD passed away on July 21, 2017 with her family by her side.
She was born in Fort Valley, GA to the late Dewey Varmette and Louise Peck on March 3, 1932. Joan graduated from Newport High School in Vermont. She received a Bachelor’s degree from Coppin State University in Baltimore, MD. Joan worked as a Special Education Teacher for Cecil County Public Schools for 20 years. After retirement she became actively involved with her volunteer work for the Turkey Point Light House. Joan is preceded in death by her husband: Gerard ‘Del’ Russell (1928-1972); her son: Brian Russell (1956-2001); and her brother: Robert Varmette (1922-1944). Walter Steve Sexton, Jr. age 79 of Elkton, MD passed away on July 19, 2017. He was born on March 10, 1938 in West Bradford, PA to the late Walter Steve Sexton, Sr. and Jincy Emma (Vaught) Sexton. Walter worked for Chrysler as a repairman for 32 ½ years. He was a union member of UAW and enjoyed working on cars in his spare time. Walter loved to go hunting and fishing, but he was happiest with his family. He cherished the time spent with them and especially his grandchildren. He would tell jokes to anyone who would listen and always tried to make his kids laugh. Glen Taylor Rosado, "Pops", age 61, of Elkton, MD passed away Tuesday, July 18, 2017. Born January 11, 1956 in Wilmington, DE, Glen was the son of Emily J. (Taylor) Rosado and the late Luis A. Rosado. Glen dedicated twenty-six years to Dow Chemical in Newark, Delaware where he worked as a chemical operator. He loved the beach, especially Fenwick Island, where he spent many cherished days with his family. He enjoyed mowing the lawn and preferred to be the only one who groomed it. Glen did not like to be the center of attention but that did not hinder him from being loved by all that had the privilege of knowing him. He was known for whistling and doing anything he could for his grandbabies. Mary Anna Hessler, 78 years, of Port Deposit, MD, passed away Thursday, July 13, 2017 in the Senator Bob Hooper House of Forest Hill, MD. Born May 31, 1939 in Baltimore, MD, she was the daughter of the late James John and Josephine Benczkowski. Mrs. Hessler was a member of Good Shepherd Parish of Perryville, MD, and attended Good Shepherd Catholic Church. She was previously employed by Martin Marietta of Middle River, MD. Robert F. Newton of Elkton, MD, age 81, went to his eternal home Friday, July 14, 2017. He was born in Elba, AL on July 4, 1936 to the late William F. Newton and Mary June (McDowell) Newton. Robert is survived by his wife of 39 years, Rebecca "Sherlene" Newton; two sons: Robert F. Newton, Jr. and his wife, Christy of Prattville, AL and Len Gregory Newton and his wife, Holly of Elba, AL; daughter, Sara Felicia Best and her husband, Robert of Greenville, SC; two step-children: Rebecca Gwendolyn Cox and her husband, Tim of Moses Lake, WA and Mahalia Dawn Hart and her husband, Jim of Philadelphia, PA; eighteen grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents, Robert is preceded in death by his step-daughter, Melissa Angeline Nolin and grandson, Kyle Franklin Newton. Joanne Sentman died Thursday, July 13, 2017 at her home in Elkton, MD. Born in Elkton on May 13, 1933, she was the daughter of the late Frances Bryson Rudy and the late Mitchell McKeown.
A lifelong Elkton resident, she was a graduate of Elkton High School, Class of 1951. She trained at Delaware Hospital, Wilmington DE where she received a degree as a registered nurse in 1954. Joanne was employed at the Delaware Hospital for several years. Harry B. Baczkowski, age 94, of Elkton, MD, went to be with his Lord on Sunday, July 9, 2017. Born in Pittsburgh, PA, on December 19, 1922, he was the son of the late Joseph and Veronica Malachowski Baczkowski. Mr. Baczkowski served his country during World War II in the Pacific as a U.S. Army corporal in the 1122 Military Police, having served from January 16, 1943 until December 20, 1945. Following his move to Elkton, he married his sweetheart, Frances, and this year they celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary. Together they raised four sons, Harry, Jr. (Linda), Joseph (Carole), Thomas (Diana) and William (Tina), and a daughter, Barbara (Bruce). Mr. Baczkowski retired from RMR as a supervisor after 30 years of service. He was a member of Immaculate Conception Church, Elkton, for 70 years, where he volunteered with the Parish Outreach for 10 years. Mr. Baczkowski was a devoted and faithful servant of the Lord. He was a member of American Legion Cecil Post #15 and VFW Post #8175, both in Elkton. Mr. Baczkowski enjoyed gardening and loved his sports teams, especially the Steelers and Pirates, and attending the many games and recitals his grandchildren participated in. Most of all, he loved spending time with family and friends. Brian Lee Williams, 51 years, of Perryville, MD, passed away Sunday, July 9, 2017. Born June 8, 1966 in Perryville, MD, he was the son of the late Benjamin F. and Thressa Kifer Williams. Brian was a recently retired Professional Firefighter of Baltimore County, MD, and was a 31 year member of the Community Fire Company of Perryville, MD. In addition, Brian had been employed for many years as a Technician by Collette’s Service Center of Perryville, MD. Brian is survived by his loving wife of 23 years, Kerri L. Weible Williams of Perryville, MD; daughter, Emily Wood of North Carolina; brother, Barry Williams of Dover, DE; sisters, Teri Magraw and Toni Peters, both of Perryville, MD; adopted brothers, Chase Armington of North East, MD, and George Armington of Cochranville, PA; nieces, Delanie Peters of Perryville, MD, Megan Williams and Kristen Williams, both of Dover, DE. |
