John F. Cleary, of North East, died at home surrounded by his loving family on Friday, June 21, 2013. He was 55. Mr. Cleary was a lifelong resident of Cecil County, born in Elkton on May 22, 1958, son of the late Pail and the late Mattie Cleary.
Marjory "Betty" Frazier, of Rising Sun, died at home on Friday, June 21, 2013. She was 85. Mrs. Frazier was born in Bainbridge on February 12, 1928, daughter of the late Emma Ropka Steinhilber and Robert Bernard Steinbilber. She graduated from the Jacob Tome Institute in Port Deposit in 1945. She worked as a secretary, first at the VA in Perryville and finally retiring as an executive secretary at the Aberdeen Proving Grounds.
Hazel Louise Smith Gray, of Bay View, near North East, died at home on Saturday, June 22, 2013. She was 95. Mrs. Gray was born in Sylmar on February 24, 1918, daughter of the late Edward Beecher and the late Belle Benjamin Smith. She was the wife of the late John Andrew "Zip" Gray who died on April 26, 1996.
Walton B. White, of Elkton, died Saturday, June 22, 2013. He was 86. Mr. White was born in Perryville on April 5, 1927, son of the late Sewell Edward and the late Margie Elizabeth Shores White.
George William Britt, of North East, died suddenly at his home on Sunday, June 16, 2013. He was 60. Mr. Britt was born in Baltimore on July 16, 1952, son of the late Lacy and Rita Britt.
Edward H. Campbell, of Conowingo, died at Union Hospital in Elkton on Thursday, June 19, 2013. He was 84. Mr. Campbell was born in McKeesport, PA on March 12, 1929, son the late Edward H. Campbell, Sr., and Mary Bachelor Campbell.
Sheila Ann Butler Coudon Crabtree, of Clarkston, MI, passed away at her home after a battle with lung cancer for seven long years. She was 63. Mrs. Crabtree was born in Chesapeake City, on June 20, 1949, daughter of the late Frank and Alva Mae Butler Johnson.
Fred A. Hayes, of Elkton, died at the University of PA Medical Center in Philadelphia, on Saturday, June 15, 2013. He was 56. Mr. Hayes was born in Harford County on December 30, 1956, son of the late Freel H. and Virginia F. Hayes. Prior to his retirement he worked as a mechanic for Dixie Construction Company.
Anita J. Howell, of North East, died suddenly on Saturday, June 15, 2013, at her home. She was 64. Ms. Howell was born in Nanticoke, PA, on November 5, 1948, daughter of the late Henry Watkins and the late Sarah Jane Nitz Milliner. She retired from Aberdeen Proving Ground where she worked as a Division Chief for Supply and Logistics.
Gurnie W. Poe, Jr., of North East, died Monday, June 17, 2013 at his home. He was 66. Mr. Poe was a lifelong resident of Cecil County. He was born in Elkton on January 31, 1947, son of the late Gurnie W. and the late Bessie Pearl Rogers Poe. He served in the U.S. Army and worked as a heavy equipment operator.
