James K. Frederick, age 57 of Rising Sun, MD, passed away on October 30, 2018. Born May 22, 1961 in Baltimore, MD, James was the son of the late Edward and Ila Frederick. James was an animal lover but especially loved his dogs. He enjoyed visiting with his friends all around Rising Sun and was known for having his cup of coffee and a scratch off nearby. He also enjoyed spending the holidays with his family, playing cards, board games, puzzles and putting together car models. He enjoyed going to High School Football games, Orioles games and bowling with his father. James will be missed dearly by his family and his many friends. Etta Frances Beal, 86 of Elkton, MD, passed away Monday, October 29, 2018 in the University of Maryland Medical Center, Baltimore, MD. Born in MD, on August 28, 1932, she was the daughter of the late Bassadore and Sadie (Anders) Walls. Etta had worked at Wee Care Daycare in North East for many years. She enjoyed reading. She is survived by one son: Wayne Beal (Stephanie) of Rising Sun, MD; a brother: Mike Walls of Street, MD; 3 sisters: Betty Hales of Elkton, MD, Linda Kline of Port Deposit, MD and Evelyn Anderson of Havre de Grace, MD; and her grandchildren: Emilie Beal and Kyler Priller. Richard E. Lyster, Sr., 70, of Penns Grove, NJ, passed away Wednesday, October 24, 2018 at Wilmington VA Medical Center. He was the husband of the late Evelyn Shradley Lyster. Born in West Chester he was the son of the late Wilbert and Agnes Miller Lyster. Richard was a veteran of the US Army and served in the Vietnam War. Richard enjoyed fishing, watching movies, and eating Lays chips. He is survived by one son, Richard E. Lyster, Jr. of Port Deposit, MD; nine grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; one brother, Thomas Lyster of Penns Grove, NJ; and one sister, Bonnie Lyster of Rising Sun, MD. Paul L. Huntzberry, 80 passed away Thursday, October 25, 2018 in the Perry Point VA Medical Center, Perry Point, MD.
Born in Severn, MD, on February 28, 1938, he was the son of the late Ray W. Sr. and Thelma Irene (Gilbert) Huntzberry. He was the husband of 49 years of the late Norma G. Huntzberry who passed on September 23, 2011. Paul served his country proudly in the military, first in the U.S. Air Force, and then in the Army National Guard. Robert Wayne Nixon, “Bob” passed away at home on October 23, 2018. He was born on July 9, 1952 in Compton, CA to Donna Charmaine Blue and the late Robert Nixon. Bob served our country in the United States Army from 1972 to 1983. He was also the Chief of Chesapeake City Police Department from 1983 to 1991. During his professional career, Bob was a civilian engineer at Aberdeen Proving Ground for 44 years. He travelled the country and loved taking back roads. Bob also loved trying new foods. In addition to his mother, Bob is survived by his wife, Tamara Nixon of Whiteford, MD formerly of Rising Sun, MD; son, Robert Nixon and his wife Natalie of Perryville, MD; son, Gregory Nixon of Perryville, MD; daughter, Alicia Maxwell of Wilmington, DE; daughter, Lauren Daugherty of Perryville, MD; daughter, Kathryn Johnson and her husband William of Perryville, MD; step-son, Eric Burton of Rising Sun, MD; step-son, Dylan Burcham of Rising Sun, MD; and grandson, William Johnson V. Nancy Arlean Williams, 78 of Elkton, MD, passed away Wednesday, October 24, 2018.
Born in Grundy, VA, on October 29, 1939, she was the daughter of the late James and Della (Blackburn) McClanahan. She was the wife of the late Hubert L. Williams who passed in 1983. Mrs. Williams worked for many years as a Home Health Caregiver. She is survived by 5 children: John L. Williams, Joan L. Williams, Donna C. Boggs, Mary A. Sprankle, and Brian P. Williams; 16 grandchildren and 31 great grandchildren. Kati Lin Casey, born May 22, 1988, died October 22, 2018.
Suddenly, on October 22, 2018 this world lost an amazing person. Kati is remembered as a fun, loving, crazy, caring individual. She enjoyed spending time with her family, riding her bike, listening to music and hanging out with friends. Kati’s bright smile is one that forever remains with those who were lucky enough to see it. Above all else, Kati loved spending time with her nieces and nephews. They were her pride and joy. The outpouring of love and support that has been shown to our family during this extremely sad time is indescribable. To know that our Kati was so loved by so many is something we will cherish forever. Her passing comes as a shock to us all and we will forever miss our Kati. Jean Pearl Moore, 70 of Elkton, MD, passed away Monday, October 22, 2018 at home. Born in Wilmington, DE, on April 10, 1948, she was the daughter of the late Roy S. Jr. and Charlotte M. (Minor) Moore. Jean is survived by her twin sister: June Reed of North Port, FL; her sister: Carol L. Hedge of Fort Pierce, FL; and her niece: Linda C. Lopez-Puig (David) and their son Ayden of El Paso, TX. Funeral service will be held Wednesday, October 31, 2018 at 12:00 noon at Crouch Funeral Home, P.A., 127 South Main Street, North East, MD, with visitation beginning at 10:00 am. Ruby Jean Gilbert Rycroft, a resident of Kindley Rd., died at home Sunday October 21, 2018. She was 72.
She was born January 22, 1946 in Cecil County, daughter of the late John Clarrington Gilbert and Mabel Marie Moats Gilbert. Mrs. Rycroft was a homemaker and worked in the furniture industry for many years. She was of the Baptist faith, loved cooking and being a homemaker. Rose Marie Taylor of North East died Monday, October 22, 2018 in the Seasons Hospice Unit of Christiana Hospital, Newark, Del. She was 61.
A lifelong resident of North East, she was born on February 8, 1957, the daughter of the late Joseph M. and Susan (Strizack) Cornell. Mrs. Taylor worked as a packer at Patriotic Fireworks. She enjoyed reading and caring for her beloved dog, Cracker. |
