Thomas Russell Alban, Jr., 54 of North East, MD, passed away Tuesday, December 26, 2017 in the Christiana Hospital, Newark, DE. He was born in Baltimore, MD, on December 25, 1963. Prior to his retirement, Thomas worked as a truck driver. He enjoyed NASCAR, fishing and planes. He liked Ford vehicles. Survived by his wife: Joan Alban; two children: Tara Alban of Port Deposit, MD and Robert Alban of North East, MD; his mother: Mary Louise (Stallings) Farmer of DE; two sisters: Stephanie Malin of Newark, DE and Rebecca Alban of ME; and his two grandchildren: Aubrey and Nathan Colvin. Pamela J. Maxwell, 52 of Rising Sun, MD, passed away Friday, December 22, 2017. Born in Elkton, MD, on August 23, 1965, she was the daughter of the late John W. Kyte, Sr. and Mary Lee (Reynolds) Kyte. Pam loved the outdoors. She enjoyed camping trips with her kids and grandkids. She also enjoyed going out dancing with her daughter and listening to her sing karaoke. My mother is my HERO! She was stronger, braver, more loving and caring than anyone else I have ever met. She is survived by her daughter: Tosha Hitchner and granddaughter: Sierra Albert. Isobel E. Moran, 91, of Nottingham, passed away Tuesday, December 26, 2017 at her daughter’s home, Maiden, NC. She was the wife of the late Elton R. Moran. Born in Springfield, Delaware Co., PA she was the daughter of the late Charles F. Carter, Sr., and Edith Emma Everett Carter. Isobel was a member of the Oxford Church of the Nazarene. She enjoyed reading and visiting family. Gerald Norman Heck, Sr., 70 of Conowingo, MD, passed away Monday, December 25, 2017 in the Brinton Woods Post-Acute Care Center, Baltimore, MD. Born in Street, MD, on February 25, 1947, he was the son of the late Elvon and Esther (Temple) Heck. Prior to his retirement, Mr. Heck worked as a welder for Maryland Railcar and Wiley’s Manufacturing in Port Deposit, MD. He enjoyed fishing and hunting. Mildred Dorothy Schofield George, age 80 of Elkton, MD went home to be with the Lord on Monday, December 25, 2017.
She was born on January 9, 1937 in Wilmington, DE, to George Schofield and Sophia Chambers Schofield of DE. Mildred graduated from Newark High School and Philadelphia Bible College and was retired from Bank of New York. She is preceded in death by her husband of 55 years: Floyd C. George, Jr. who passed on May 21, 2015. Joseph William Griffin, of Perryville, MD, and Aberdeen, MD, died Saturday, December 23, 2017 surrounded by his wife, Susan, and daughter, Sandra. Born August 25, 1951 in Havre de Grace, MD, he was the son of the late William and Helen Cerney Griffin.
Joseph battled cancer for over 3 years and fought every step of the way right to the very end. In September 2017 metastatic cancer returned and he fought the cancer until he succumb to pneumonia as fluid filled his lungs and he experienced carbon dioxide overload. He is survived by his wife, Susan Rodden; daughters, Sandra Espinosa and Helen Griffin; step-son, Brandon Rodden; five grandchildren; brother, John Murphy; and aunt, Virginia Fitch. Joseph spent 10 years of his career as a Master Plumber. He was employed by Comfort Systems and Phillips Way. Prior to that he owned his own construction business and operated heavy equipment. During his career he enjoyed many opportunities including working for Harford County Division of Water & Sewer and the City of Havre de Grace. Alice "Pee Wee" Reva Cochran, 82 years, of Perryville, MD, made it up the steps to heaven to become an angel on Monday, December 25, 2017.
Born April 3, 1935 in Perryville, MD, she was the daughter of the late Strailey Wilson and Evelyn Mildred Peters Cox. Mrs. Cochran attended the Perryville United Methodist Church and was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary to the Susquehanna American Legion Post No. 135 of Perryville, MD. She was a homemaker and known for making the best pound cakes. She was an avid quilter and enjoyed listening to the old time gospel music. Mrs. Cochran is survived by her sister, Jane C. Thompson of Perryville, MD, and Grace Gutierrez of Albuquerque, NM, and a ton of nieces and nephews. Beverly Jane Petrilli, nee Artur (August 14, 1938 – December 24, 2017).

Edith Marie Ranieri, age 97, of Elkton, MD, passed away at home on Thursday, December 21, 2017. Born in Long Bottom, WV, on August 28, 1920, she was the daughter of the late Samuel S. and Minnie Waddell Meadows. Mrs. Ranieri retired from Cecil County Public Schools as a teacher’s instructional aide after 32 years of service. She was a member of Moore’s Chapel United Methodist Church and the Maryland Retired School Personnel Association. An avid quilter, Mrs. Ranieri loved the opera and enjoyed reading. Margaret Ellen Beach, 63, of Elkton, MD passed away Wednesday, December 20, 2017 at her home. Born in Wheeling, WV she was the daughter of Elizabeth Shriver of Salyersville, KY. She was a teacher for 40 years at Chestertown Christian Academy and Elkton Christian School. Margaret was a member of Nottingham Missionary Baptist Church. She loved cooking, baking, and spending time with family especially her grandchildren. She is survived by her mother; two sons, Adam D. Beach (Katherine) of Rising Sun, MD and Andrew Scott Beach (Ashley) of Landenberg; one daughter, Amber Dawn Flanagan (Michael) of Marlton, NJ; nine grandchildren, AJ, Zoey, Grayson, Carter, Avery, Rachel, Jack, Amelia and Elijah; two brothers, Robert Felber of Salyersville, KY and Danny Wade of Salyersville, KY; and one sister, Donna Richards of Bridgeport, OH. |
