Joseph J. Ingram, Jr. of Colora died Tuesday, July 29, 2014 in the VA Hospital of Baltimore. He was 74. He was born in Marion, Ala. on July 22, 1940, son of the late Joseph Jefferson and the late Lilly M (Lott) Ingram. Mr. Ingram was a United States Army Staff Sergeant with 20 years of service. He also retired from the Civil Service as an Exhibit Specialist and Ingram Demolition, Tallahassee, Ala. Mr. Ingram was a member of the American Legion Mason Dixon Post 194, Rising Sun. He was known to “take care of everybody.” Edward D. Frederick of Port Deposit died Wednesday July 30, 2014 at Harford Memorial Hospital. He was 81. Born in Frankstown, Pa., on November 19, 1932, he was the son of the late Charles and Carrie Frederick. Mr. Frederick retired from the Hatem Memorial Bridge as Toll Facilities Officer. He was a Maryland DHIA Milk Tester for over 35 years. He drove school bus for Cecil County for more than 10 years and enjoyed this job very much. Etta A. Johnson of North East died Tuesday, July 29, 2014 in the Singerly Manor Assisted Living, Elkton. She was 92. A lifelong resident of Cecil County, she was born on October 17, 1921, in North East, daughter of the late Herbert Stanley and the late Elsie V. (Hammond) Reed. Mrs. Johnson worked at Triumph Explosives during World War II. She was a member of Zion United Methodist Church. Edith Suzanne “Sue” Brown of Perryville died Monday, July 28, 2014 in Christiana Hospital of Newark, Del. She was 56. Born August 13, 1957 in Havre de Grace, she was the daughter of the late Allan Vernon, Sr., and Sarah Frances Walker Brown. She was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force and a Registered Nurse/Nurse Educator employed by the V.A. Maryland Health Care Center of Perry Point, contributing over 35 years of dedicated service. James Patrick Melber of Oxford, Pa., died Wednesday, July 23, 2014. He was 46.
Born October 28, 1967, in Baltimore, he was the son of Carol Melber Gutberlot of Port Deposit, and the late Garry Gutberlet. Janet (Brown) Murphy of Boca Raton, Fla. died Friday, July 11, 2014. She was 79. She is survived by her two daughters, Pattie Abbott of Indianapolis, Indiana and Jeannie Johnson of Port Deposit; six grandchildren; four great grandchildren; two sisters; and one brother. A graveside service will be held Saturday, August 9, 2014, 11 a.m., at Conowingo Baptist Church Cemetery. Duane H. Taylor of Port Deposit died Sunday, July 27, 2014 in the Upper Chesapeake Medical Center, Bel Air. He was 66.
He was born in Letcher County, Ky., on April 16, 1948. Mr. Taylor retired from York Building Products where he worked as a mechanic. He enjoyed watching NASCAR. William Lewis Wilson of Mohrsville, Pa., formerly of Elkton, died Thursday, July 24, 2014 in the St. Joseph's Medical Center, Reading, Pa. He was 84.
Born in Princeton, W.Va., on October 9, 1929, he was the son of the late Walter W. Wilson, Sr. and the late Grace (Warden) Wilson. Mr. Wilson served his country in the U.S. Army. Pauline Funk of Port Deposit died Wednesday, July 23, 2014 at Harford Memorial Hospital, Havre de Grace. She was 82. Born August 28, 1931, in Ashe County, N.C., she was the daughter of the late James Edward and Stella Blackburn Blevins. Mrs. Funk and her husband Rex loved to travel and visited every state in the country, nine of the 12 provinces in Canada, Germany, Egypt and walked where Jesus walked in Jerusalem. Mrs. Funk was a founding member of Pleasant View Baptist Church of Port Deposit. She was a pre-school teacher at the Lighthouse Christian Academy of Port Deposit, for over 20 years. |
