Deborah Anne Green, age 54 of North East, MD, passed away on Thursday, April 27, 2017. She was born on March 28, 1963, the daughter of the late William L. and Catherine D. (Humphrey) Kreiss. Debbie enjoyed hosting outdoor get-togethers with her family and friends. She was very enthusiastic about decorating, especially for the holidays, her favorites being Christmas and Halloween. She loved animals as well and had many different types through the years. Robert B. Marshall, IV, 60, of Aberdeen died April 26, 2017. He was born in Havre de Grace, MD, the son of Robert B. Marshall III and Isabella England Marshall. He was raised and educated in Cecil County, living in the same home of the three preceding Robert B. Marshall’s in the area known as Battle Swamp. Upon graduation from Perryville High School in 1974, he joined the U. S. Marine Corps. Later returning home in 1979, he began his career working with his father, the owner of Harford Lanes. After his father’s passing, Bobby assumed ownership of Harford Lanes in 1993. Focusing his attention on the youth at Harford Lanes, Bobby began building on an already successful Junior League program. Through simple innovations, he created a thriving program with over 200 bowlers by the early 90’s and kept it there through the early 2000’s. Deborah Leona Hutchinson, age 68, of Elkton, MD, passed away Monday, April 17th, 2017. She was born on August 11th, 1948 in Baltimore, MD, to the late Leon Finny and Lanae Leake.
Debbie retired from Union Hospital after 28 years of service, having worked in dietary services. She loved being with her family and spending time with her friends at the Fresenius Dialysis Center and Elkton Senior Center. Debbie also enjoyed baking, listening to gospel music and watching soap operas. Betty Ann Frazier Fischer passed away surrounded by the endless love of her family on Monday, April 24, 2017. She was born in Petersburg, VA, on November 16, 1948, to William and Winifred "Rosemary" Frazier. Betty was a lifelong resident of the Cecil County area and a graduate of Elkton High School in 1966. She spent many years working as the office manager for Dr. Hsu before going to work for the Cecil County Health Department, from which she retired in 2011. Betty will be remembered by friends and family as the gentle, kind and loving person that she was. All who knew her witnessed the enormous love and devotion she had for her family. Betty was married to her loving husband, Eddie, and would have celebrated their 50th anniversary on May 22. They especially enjoyed decorating for and celebrating the holidays with friends and family. It wasn't a Christmas party without the trays of her wonderful cookies, treats and fudge. To her two daughters and sons-in-law, Angela and Ronnie, and Brenda and Mark, she was a devoted mom and set a wonderful example of how to be a selfless parent. Betty received great joy from being mommom to her five grandchildren, Joseph, Makenzie, Nicole, Dorian and Connor. Along with poppop, she enjoyed making every holiday extra special, even inventing a few for them. Betty loved baking with them, enjoyed attending their school and sporting events, and simply spending time and playing with them. She rode more than her fair share of roller coasters and was up for any adventure, from hiking mountains to snow tubing to white river rafting, when they were involved. Tom (Art) Carnill, 86 of Elkton, MD, passed away peacefully Tuesday, April 25, 2017 at his home surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Detroit, Michigan on January 23, 1931 and the son of the late Earl and Bessie Carnill. He served his country proudly in the Army during the Korean Conflict. Tom worked for Chrysler as a maintenance supervisor, retiring after 32 years of service. He was a beloved member of Praise Assembly Church Newark, DE. Survivors include his loving daughter: Linda Lannen (Charles) of Elk Mills, MD and four sons: Sam Walter (Linda), Tommy Carnill, Timothy Carnill of Elkton, MD and Rodney Carnill (Beth) of Winchester, VA. He is also survived by 18 grandchildren, 27 great grandchildren, and 17 great-great grandchildren. Robert Michael Burchett, Jr., age 41, of Elkton, MD, passed away on Saturday, April 22, 2017, surrounded by his loving family. Born in Killeen, TX, on July 23, 1975, he was the son of Robert M., Sr. and Bonnie Burris Burchett of Conowingo, MD. Mr. Burchett was a supervisor with Alan Myer Construction. Active as a volunteer in area fire companies, he was a member of Singerly Fire Company, Elkton, where he served as a safety officer, rescue captain, lieutenant, EMS captain, and firefighter/EMT; Community Fire Company, Perryville, where he served as a lieutenant and firefighter/EMT; and Water Witch Fire Company, Port Deposit, where he served as a firefighter. Mr. Burchett also served as a hazmat lieutenant and safety officer for the Cecil County Department of Emergency Services. He was devoted to his family and loved spending time with his wife and children. Mr. Burchett enjoyed serving his community through public safety, coaching youth baseball, and charity work. He also enjoyed boating, fishing, shooting, and sports. Nellie Lee Hayes Hall, 65 years, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, April 19, 2017. She will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved her. A lifelong resident of Cecil County, Nellie was born in Port Deposit, MD, to the late Freel and Frances McCloud Hayes. Mrs. Hall is survived by her husband, Robert Hall; children, Carolyn Gross, Shannan Grubb, Brett Hall and Marlon Hall; several grandchildren and great grandchildren; all of whom she loved and nurtured. Her sisters include Arlene Hayes of Elkton, MD, Bonnie Moore of Port Deposit, MD, Margaret Stanley and Karen Jandon both of Havre de Grace, MD. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Hall was preceded in death by her brother, Fred A Hayes; and sister, Rose Hayes Price. William Derrick Warner, Jr., born March 15, 1954 in Portsmouth, VA, died unexpectedly on Tuesday, April 18, 2017. Bill was the son of Dorothy Kane Warner and the late William Derrick Warner, Sr. Bill was a veteran of the U.S. Army. He was honorably discharged at the rank of Sergeant in 1975. His employment included Amtrak, Hoober, Inc., Ramsey Ford and Sandy Cove Ministries. He was an active member of Crossroads Presbyterian Church in Middletown, DE. Bill loved our Lord and his family. He enjoyed laughing, sports, music, boating, tractors, history, talking, and missionary trips. Howard James Holley of North East, MD, age 59, passed away on Tuesday, April 18, 2017.
He was born on January 8, 1958 in Pottsville, PA to the late James B. Holley and Florence E. (Snyder) Holley. Howard was a plant operator at the former Maryland Materials for 31 years. He loved hunting, music of all types and played the drums. Howard also enjoyed passing peaceful time watching birds and other wildlife. Angelina Elizabeth Saponaro Kopatch, daughter of Michael and Mary Saponaro, passed away peacefully in her home six days prior to her 92nd birthday. She was a lifelong resident of Perryville, and a lifelong parishioner of Good Shepherd Church.
Angelina was an expert seamstress, an avid gardener, and an excellent cook. She cherished the children in her life, as a Kindergarten aide, and later as a grandmother and even a great-grandmother. |
