Larry Dean Lovelace of Colora died Thursday, November 27, 2014 at Union Hospital in Elkton. He was 73. Born January 5, 1941 in Elizabethton, Tennessee, Dean was the son of the late Bruce and Ella Jane (Hyder) Lovelace. A heavy equipment operator, he was a member of the Operating Engineers Local 37 in Baltimore. He worked on many projects and highways in the area including 495 in Delaware, 695 and Rt.40 in Maryland and he even went to Turkey for 18 months to work on airport runways. He was proud of all the projects in which he participated. In his down time he enjoyed gardening, “tractoring”, “collecting”, scratch-offs and word searches. He would faithfully start each day visiting Benjamin’s grocery store and Royal Farms. A friend to all, he always lent a helping hand and he will be missed by many. He is survived by his wife of 47years, Alyce Lovelace; a son, Larry K. Eller (Donna) of Coudersport, Pa,; daughters, Melissa Wood (Lewis) of Port Deposit, and Nancy Lovelace of Belcamp; grandchildren, Bradley Eller, John Brooks, Bobby Brooks, Anthony Hayden and Rachel Eller; great grandchild, Abigayle Louise Price-Eller; brothers, Robert Lovelace (Lucy), Homer Lovelace (Joyce), and his identical twin, Terry Dale Lovelace (Jeananne); sisters, Louise Goodie and Rena Marie Cummins; and his dog and faithful companion, Nakita, who was often seen by his side in his truck.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Amy Louise Lovelace, his brothers, Thomas E. Lovelace and John W. Lovelace, and sister, Wilma Fischer. A service will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, December 3, 2014 at the Rising Sun Church of the Nazarene, 2626 Tome Hwy., Colora, MD 21917. Visitations will be held from 6-8 p.n. on Tuesday, December 2, 2014 at R.T. Foard Funeral Home, PA, 111 S. Queen St., Rising Sun, MD 21911 and one hour prior to the service at the church. Burial will follow at West Nottingham Presbyterian Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Rising Sun Church of the Nazarene and sent in care to the funeral home. Comments are closed.
