James Ronald “Ron” Blake of Newark, Del., died at home Tuesday, June 17, 2014. He was 61. Born in York, Pa., on June 2, 1953, he was the son of the late James O. and the late Margaret E. (Snedagar) Blake. He was a truck driver for Chesapeake Publishing for 32 years. He enjoyed NASCAR and was a huge Jeff Gordon fan. He also enjoyed hunting, fishing, and spending time outdoors. Mr. Blake was also a member of The Moose Lodge, and the V.F.W. Post 8175 of Elkton.
He is survived by his wife of 13 years, Lisa Blake of Newark, Del.; his daughter, Maggie Elizabeth Blake of Newark, Del.; and two sons, James R. Blake and wife Bobbie Jo and their children, Cheyenne and Brady and Paul David Blake, all of North East; four sisters, Susie Thompson and Brenda Rinehart (Paul) all of North East, MD; Bonnie Hinton (Will) of Warwick; Connie Hanby (Roy) of Elkton; mother in law, Ruth Bounds, brother in law, David both of Newark, Del.; and brother in law, Wallace Bounds (Annette) of Frederick. He also survived by many loving nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by a brother, Larry Blake. A memorial service will be held Tuesday, June 24, 2014 at 4 p.m. at Crouch Funeral Home, P.A., 127 South Main Street, North East, where the family will receive guests beginning at 3 p.m. Following services there will be a gathering at The Moose Lodge in Elkton, from 5-7 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to a scholarship fund for Maggie, in care of the funeral home.
