Gary Wayne Weaver of Mountain City, Tenn., formerly of North East, died December 24, 2014. He was 67. He was born May 4, 1947. Mr. Weaver served his country in the U.S. Army as well as served his community at the local fire department. He served for 40 years and led the department as president during the initial addition of the recreation hall. During his working years, he was a career man at Chrysler Corp., Newark, Del., where he worked his way through the ranks and led many departments throughout. He retired in 1994 after 30 years of service. He is survived by his wife of 33 years, Sandra Turner Weaver; his daughters, Carol Halsey (spouse Greg) and Dawn Chadwick, both of North East; his siblings, Bill Weaver (spouse Betty), Jerry ”Bo” Weaver (spouse Thelma), Ernie Weaver, Sharon Weaver and Kathy Bordeaux; six grandchildren, Gregory, Marissa, Katelynn, Brandon, David and Shaina; and two great grandchildren, Evelyn and Brayden.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Van and Mary Weaver; a sister, Phyllis Reynolds; and a daughter, Mary Elizabeth Weaver. Funeral services, conducted by Rev. Phil Meekins will be held Saturday, January 3, 2015 at noon at Crouch Funeral Home, P.A., 127 South Main Street, North East, with visitation beginning at 10 a.m. until service time. Burial with military and fire company honors will follow services in Bay View Cemetery, North East. Memorial contributions may be made to Crouch Funeral Home, P.A. Comments are closed.
