Edward Andrew Oikemus, Sr., 75 of North East, MD, died Wednesday, April 12, 2017 in the Union Hospital, Elkton, MD. Born in Gardner, MA, on December 25, 1941, he was the son of W. W. Oikemus and Aili Fisk Oikemus Jones. He retired as a diesel mechanic from Pepsi in Havre de Grace, MD. Eddie was a member of the Strasburg Rail Road Museum and also enjoyed Drag Racing and Steam Trains. Survived by his wife: Judith C. (Rolfe) Oikemus; and three sons: Edward A. Oikemus, Jr. of Rising Sun, MD, Andrew E. Oikemus of Charlestown, MD and John F. Oikemus of Elkton, MD; sister: Beverly Russell of North East, MD; grandchildren: Courtney Oikemus, Erik Frank, Anthony Frank, Derek Oikemus, Andrew Oikemus, Jr. and Olivia Oikemus. He is also survived by his great grandchildren: Kaleb Frank, Mikayla Frank, Gianna Lesand and Chase Oikemus.
In addition to his parents, Eddie was preceded in death by his sister: Kirsten C. Frederick. Funeral service, conduct by Rev. Cheryl Snyder will be held Thursday, April 20, 2017 at 6:00 pm at Union UM Church, 440 Union Church Road, Elkton, MD. There will be a viewing from 4:00 pm until service time at the church.
