Douglas Lycurgas Stewart of Baltimore, formerly of Port Deposit, died Saturday, November 23, 2013 in the Loch Raven Community Living Center, Baltimore. He was 88. Born July 20, 1925 in Port Deposit, he was the son of the late William J., Sr. and Catherine M. Mason Stewart. Mr. Stewart was a veteran of the U.S. Army Air Force having served during World War II. He was a member of Cokesbury United Methodist Church of Cokesbury, Port Deposit, and was formerly employed by Bethlehem Steel of Sparrows Point, Baltimore, as a crane operator.
Mr. Stewart is survived by his brothers, Robert M. Stewart, William J. Stewart, Jr., George O. Stewart, John P. Stewart; sisters, Joanne E. Stewart Walton, Rosemary V. Stewart Watson; 11 nieces and nephews; 11 great nieces and nephews; and one great great nephew. In addition to his parents, Mr. Stewart was preceded in death by his brother, Richard H. Stewart. Funeral services are scheduled for Saturday, November 30, 2013, noon, at the Lee A. Patterson & Son Funeral Home, P.A., Perryville. Visitation for family and friends will be held Saturday, November 30, 2013, 11 a.m. until noon, at the funeral home. Burial will be in Jones Memorial Cemetery, Cokesbury, Port Deposit.
