Dorothy Mae Kane Lindsey of Independence Way, Delaware, died at Elkton Care and Rehab Center, Elkton, Md., on Monday, December 22, 2014. She was 90. Mrs. Lindsey was born in Chester, a daughter of the late Harry and Grace Simmons Kane. She worked as a cashier at the A&P Supermarket, and was later a teller for a PNC branch bank in Newark, Del. Mrs. Lindsey attended Kemblesville United Methodist Church and was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of Aetna Hose, Hook & Ladder, Newark, Del. She enjoyed ballroom dancing and won trophies in waltz competitions. Mrs. Lindsey is survived by her son, Raymond R. Jr., husband of Judy Lindsey of Elkton; her daughter, Margaret J. Lindsey of Newark; her granddaughter, Jacquelyn Croom of Elkton; her great-grandson, Dylan Croom of Elkton; and her sister, Roberta Webb of Quarryville.
Her husband, Raymond R. Lindsey; and six siblings, Ruth Forrester, Harry Kane, Gladys Chamberlain, Fred Kane, Sarah Wichhart, and William Kane, are deceased. Friends may call at the Kemblesville United Methodist Church, 1772 New London Rd., Kemblesville, from 10 to 11 a.m. on Saturday, December 27. Services will be held from the church at 11 a.m. on that date. Burial will be in the Faggs Manor Cemetery, Cochranville. Comments are closed.
