Elinor Lynch Schrack of Ambler, Pa., formerly of North East, died Friday, October 13, 2017. She was 89.
Born in North East on August 3, 1928, she was the daughter of the late Joseph J. and Esther (Clark) Lynch. Gregory Todd Halsey, II, age 30 of Perryville, MD, sadly his life ended due to a tragic motorcycle accident on October 11, 2017. He was born in Havre de Grace, MD on January 31, 1987, the son of Greg and Carol Halsey. The bond this family shared was unbreakable. Hayley Holden and his daughters: Evelyn Rose and Charlie Mae were the loves of his life. Gregory had a passion for making people smile and letting everyone know that they were important to him. He was a free spirit that lived for the moment. He was a family man, loved watching his girls grow, who also enjoyed fishing and going to the gun range in his free time. His smile could light up the room. Gregory was the definition of perfection. Everything about him was infectious, whether it was his presence or his smile. His life will continue to live on through his family and his two beautiful daughters. He was a member of Charlestown Fire Dept. Grace Louise Johnson of Conowingo, MD, age 59, passed away Thursday, October 5, 2017. She was born on December 30, 1957 in Lancaster, PA to the late Charles Trimble and Cora (Howell) Trimble. Grace loved reading, playing bingo, yard-sailing which fostered her love of collecting “junk”. She loved all animals and all animals loved her. Grace’s greatest joy was spending time with her beloved husband and family. Grace is survived by her husband of seventeen years, Paul Edward Johnson, Jr. of Conowingo, MD; three children: Candy Thompson and her husband, Steven of Peach Bottom, PA, Danny Trimble and his wife, Andrea of Quarryville, PA, Jeanne Dickens and her husband, Clinton, Jr. of Drumore, PA; seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren; seven siblings: Wanda Tackett of Rising Sun, MD, Betty Chapman of Little Britain, PA, Charles Trimble, Jr. of Port Deposit, MD, Mary Roten of Holtwood, PA, James Trimble of Quarryville, PA, Lucy Heisler of Lancaster, PA and Rome Trimble of Quarryville, PA. Mary L. Gillis, 60, of North East Maryland passed away after a five year battle with cancer on October 11, 2017. Mary was born January 4, 1957 in Sacramento, CA. The daughter of an Air Force officer, she moved around a lot until settling in North East, Maryland. Mary always found her way helping someone in her jobs, whether of the four legged kind, or the two legged kind. Caring for others came naturally to her. A vet tech for thirteen years and never ceased to amaze those who knew her how many animals she could bring home from her work. One of her biggest joys was horses even as a child. She then worked down the road from her house at a thoroughbred breeding farm delivering over 50 foals. She then went on to become a Registered Nurse, graduating at the age of 52 from Cecil College. After graduation she began working at Harford Memorial Hospital. Being the caring person she was, she would often go above and beyond for her patients. Mary was a kind, intelligent, fun-loving woman and everyone she met even for a brief moment of time fell in love. Mary is survived by her husband of thirty-five years, Joseph C. Gillis Jr. and her two daughters, Emily L. Gillis Esq. and Kimberly A Gillis, all of North East, MD; brothers: David L. Cassalia, of CT; Daniel W Cassalia, of FL; Dennis J. Cassalia, of CA; Donald F. Cassalia, of Elkton MD; and many nieces and nephews. Mary was preceded in death by her parents, Major David J. Cassalia, and Ruth V. Cassalia. William David Gonce, 23 yrs, Perryville, MD, passed away Friday, October 6, 2017. Born May 18, 1994 in Baltimore, MD, he was the son of Jeffrey and Maria Gonce. David was a graduate of Perryville High School Class of 2012 and the Cecil County School of Technology where he studied agriculture. He was a member of the Community Fire Company of Perryville, MD. David was a very hard worker and was formerly employed by the Holman Contract Warehouse, Inc. and the 7-Eleven Store, both of Perryville. He was excited to begin his new career at the new Amazon.com Inc. fulfillment center of Perryville. David was a very loving young man with a heart of gold. He had many friends and was loved by all who knew him. He was an advocate for volunteering and charity work. He enjoyed camping, fishing, playing his computer games, and being a member of the Fur-The-More group. William Carl Ross, 52 of North East, MD, died Friday, October 6, 2017.
Born in Elkton, MD, on January 10, 1965, he was the son of Carl Ross of Port Deposit, MD and the late Pauline (Perry) Ross. Bill honorable served in the U.S. Navy. He was a carpenter, who enjoyed hunting and loved animals. Bill was active in North East Little League where he was a manager. He also managed the Monarch House and was a member of ARC. Eloise Conrad, 71 of North East, MD, passed away Thursday, October 5, 2017 in the Seasons Hospice & Palliative Care, Baltimore, MD.
Born in Baltimore, MD, on November 19, 1945. She retired from Aberdeen Proving Ground as an administrative assistant. Eloise enjoyed reading and gardening. Keith Lavern Collins, 50 of Conowingo, MD, joined his Savior on October 5, 2017 after a short illness.
Born in Elkton, MD, he was the son of Diana (Wynn) Collins and Burch Collins of Elkton, MD. He was a 1985 graduate of North East High and once he graduated, he joined the Army National Guard. Keith enjoyed his family and friends. He enjoyed shooting pool, fishing with his granddaughter, Sophiea and he loved carpentry. Jesse David Romberger of Rising Sun died unexpectedly at home on his 17th birthday, September 28, 2017. He was the son of David and Vicki (Koppenhaver) Romberger. Jesse is remembered for exuding joy and happiness. His warm, loving nature and sense of humor brought laughs and smiles to many at just the right time. He enjoyed history, particularly German history and learning about World Wars I and II. Charles Raymond Palmer II of Elkton died Tuesday, October 3, 2017 in Union Hospital Of Cecil County. He was 63.
Born in Elkton on February 16, 1954, he was the son of the late, Charles R. Palmer II. Mr. Palmer proudly served as a United States Marine, as well as a Safety Supervisor with Veltech. |
