The Mules came away one win shy of the 2017 L-L League championship losing to the Penn Manor Comets by a 5-3 score at Garrett Park on Wednesday, May 17. “We played “young” tonight at the start,” said head coach Brett Miller, referring to the four Mule costly errors. “Giving any team runs is never good, but a quality pitcher, and team like Penn Manor made it even harder.” While Monday, May 8, was supposed to be the last game, there were make ups with Ephrata scheduled for Tuesday and a non-league contest with Exeter on Thursday. The original Exeter game was to be played on March 28 and then again on April 29 and then on May 11. Mother Nature had the “last laugh” as usual and the Exeter game was simply cancelled for this season- three strikes you’re out.

Solanco kept the winning streak going with key hits and clutch pitching last week after clinching at least a tie for the Section II title. by Bud Hart The Mules swept the 110-meter hurdles, 100-meter dash and the 200-meter dash disciplines on their way to a 94.0 – 55.0 victory over Ephrata on Monday, May 2 on Solanco's track. The Mules played well at Donegal on Monday, May 1, but lost despite a great showing by sophomore Corey Stively. He got the start, surrendering two hits and striking out three. “It was his first start on the mound,” said head coach Tom Fish. “And he was fantastic.” by Bud Hart
