Solanco’s junior varsity softball team won three and lost one contested game this week and picked up a forfeit in a fifth. “We had a solid week as a team this week,” wrote head coach Chad McDowell. “We have been working on and stressing fundamentals through our games this week and I have seen those skills being applied in game situations.” by Bud Hart
Last week the JV Mules outscored their opposition by a 58-7 margin. The Mules defeated Lebanon 24-1 in three innings, Manheim Township 20-2 in four innings, and Elizabethtown 14-4 in five innings. On Monday, May 1, Gabby Sheets made her debut inside the circle against Lebanon at home and picked up the win, striking out six, surrendering one base hit, and walking three. by Bud Hart
The Solanco junior varsity softball team continues to go undefeated winning three games this past week outscoring their opponents 38-7. by Bud Hart
It was a great week for the Solanco junior varsity softball team as two pitchers each threw a one-hitter. Sierra Dean limited Warwick to a single base hit in an 18-2 victory at Warwick on Monday, April 17, and Skyla Townsley followed later in the week, limiting McCaskey to one-hit in a 21-0, three inning stomping on Wednesday, April 19. On her way to the win over the Warriors, Dean struck out 10 and walked three. “Sierra had good control and located her pitches well,” wrote head coach Chad McDowell. “She pitched outs. I am proud of the way Sierra threw the ball.” Coach Chad McDowell has the softball junior varsity team rolling as they won all three games this past week to remain undefeated.
On Monday, April 10, Solanco shut out the Ephrata Mountaineers 14-0 behind Skyla Townsley, who struck out 11, walked only one, and threw a five inning no-hitter. Solanco's JV softball team won its final two games to finish the season with a perfect 17-0 record.
The Mules edged Elizabethtown 4-1 last Wednesday. "This was a big game for our JV program with our rivals," Solanco coach Chad McDowell said. "It is always a fun game playing against Elizabethtown as they always come prepared to play and we usually have competitive games every time we play. Solanco's JV softball team continues to dominate its opponents.
The Mules pummeled Lebanon 16-1 in four innings last Thursday. Winning pitcher Kayla May gave up one hit and no walks while fanning five. "Kayla threw well," coach Chad McDowell said. "She had good velocity on her pitches and she hit the spots that kept the Lebanon hitters off-balance." Solanco's JV softball team completed its slate of crossover gamers with two more lopsided victories.
In six games against Section One foes, the Mules outscored opponents by a combined 115-2. Solanco pitchers allowed just 10 hits in those games. The undefeated Solanco JV softball team put up some staggering numbers last week.
The Mules scored a whopping 70 runs in just 10 innings of play and did not surrender a run. Solanco pitchers allowed just one hit all week as Sierra Dean tossed a perfect game and a no-hitter. |
