The Solanco Lacrosse Club participated in the final Lancaster Area Girls Lacrosse Association tournament of the season Saturday May 18, at Cocalico.

Down 4-0 at halftime, Solanco shifted its offensive alignment and got back into the game, but lost 6-5 to a Fellowship of Christian Athletes team based out of West Nottingham Academy in Colora, Md. It was one of those games where the game really was closer than the final score indicated.

Thirty teams representing 14 programs played a total of 22 games. What started as a small group of kids playing catch has grown into an organization featuring five teams and more than 70 participants.

The training has become an annual event, SGLC head coach Doug Dalrymple said. "They come in during their spring break to give our girls some help with their skills," he said. |
